Mechagodzilla surely had to tire Godzilla out by a large amount by beating his ass 24/7 to the point he could get the kiss of death on him (Godzilla 2014 reference). Besides, even if Kong was somehow late enough to save Godzilla from Mechagodzilla, I highly doubt he could last a beating from Mechagodzilla as long as how Godzilla lasted a beating from that same Mechagodzilla using his full strength against him, for hours

@Spiderman_13122 Sorry to burst your bubble dude, but MechaG is nothing more than a glass cannon for a weapon that’s mean to counter Godzilla. Sure, it seems powerful, but it only went up against an exhausted Godzilla and a weakened Kong who just had his heart restarted. It would’ve been torn up within minutes by the King of the Monsters like a grizzly mauls a mountain lion. Technically, Ghidorah’s conscience was controlling the mech, so he is arguably the best destructive villain in the MonsterVerse. Skar King is the best villain when you’re looking for more of a controlling dictator type villain since he controls his people (the other kongs) with fear.

Kong deserved this,,,, Godzilla took the pain, yes, but Kong was a better combatant for the situation....Thank god the filmmakers actually gave equal representation to both monsters instead of a one-sided front.....I was there in the theaters...when Kong came in it went almost as crazy as Yoda revealing his lightsaber in Attack of the Clones.....beautiful flick!

Love the teamwork but dammit I would like to see a rematch with a fully rested Godzilla vs. Mecha. I've never seen the Big G. manhandled like that. I've seen Godzilla beaten up over the decades, I've seen Godzilla get its tail handed to it, but I've never seen it like this. But then, Godzilla blew a hole into the planet, fought Kong, rampaged all over the place, fought the military/air force, Godzilla was spent. BUT, if Godzilla had come for mecha at the beginning of the movie, yeah there'd be no movie, but I think Big G could solo mecha if it were fresh. Having said that, it's a grand lesson that no matter how legendary you are, no matter how powerful, everyone needs help now and again.
