For anyone wondering why Godzilla was trying to kill Kong here its because Adam Wingard the director said those 2 have a truce Kong stays in the Hollow Earth and Godzilla Rules the Surface with keeping the other Monsters in line and doing thier jobs for the planet. When Kong came to the surface and roared for Godzilla. He broke thier agreement and that pissed him off. Remember in Godzilla's mind Kongs are evil and out to get him as he was nearly killed by multiple kongs sent after him by Skar King. Hes a monster that does not forget and will hold a grudge for years against other Kaiju. Kong here was trying his best to tell him I dont wanna fight you Godzilla and we need to work together. But he wasnt having Kong's excuses as Kong broke thier Truce in this scene.

Almost all official notations for movies have the basic premise of the movie, but adds a shit ton of stuff that never happened. The writers are free to do what they want. I felt sorry for Kong for this miscommunication, but from Godzilla's point of view, Kong has come up for a fight and is possibly in cahoots with Scar and Shimo. At this point Godzilla must be wondering if everyone is against him and that probably makes him go a bit nuts. Only Mothra communicating that Kong is no friend of Scar calmed him down - and of course seeing her again. He's gone from having multiple threats and zero allies to having two powerful allies that easily tip the balance.

I am thinking that godzilla was probably got knocked out for like 40 or 50 seconds. Cuz when zilla got knocked out kong was on top on him and zilla was laying on his back. Then the video cute than we see kong is already dragging godzilla by his tail, and godzilla was already laying on his stomach while being dragged and that's when godzilla woken up after being knocked out by Kong. Kong probably took a time trying to start dragging zilla. What I am saying is, it took a time for godzilla to wake up after being knocked out by kong. That means, kong somehow deal a great damage to godzilla with those combos. That means, if kong could've wanting to kill godzilla, he could have done it, but he isn't trying to.
