I’ve been wanting to make a Godzilla suit for months but idk what materials to use for the actual body, because I would’ve thought to use foam, but your suit bends and curls in sometimes like it’s made out of fabric of some kind, also, how would you make the tail and how do you get in the suit? And another question I have is, how can you do all of these stunts and stuff without the suit breaking or tearing?

I have a video with some in-progress photos and video of my suit in case you haven't seen it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nIOwoX2EqJ6ioMU Most of my suit is made out of 1 inch thick foam. In troubled areas where the suit would tear, such as around where the arms attached to the shoulders, I put stretchy fabric so that it wouldn't tear. I definitely recommend putting a few coats of latex on the whole suit as well. That is what really gives the suit durability. It can be sort of expensive, but it is really worth it. The tail is my favorite part of the whole suit! I accomplished it by gluing thick foam circles to a vacuum hose like this one: www.ebay.com/itm/194819098083?epid=7037157477&hash=item2d5c1f85e3:g:19sAAOSwWjliBpfh. I took an old blanket and covered the whole thing, then added the latex. I get into the suit pretty much the same way an actor would get into the Toho suits. The main row of dorsal spines are a separate piece attached by strong velcro. Good luck on your suit whenever you get around to doing it!

@@Plagued_Days Then try out with something cheaper and more simple first. For example; some cheap & large bed sheets, cut them & glue or sew together, fill with newspaper and apply latex, let it dry then take out the newspaper filling. If you're unsure just start out making one claw or feet for your suit and you'll learn. Experimenting is key.

Don't worry about the questions, I'm happy to give people advice! I simply used a lot of glue. I started at the tip of the tail, making my way up to where it connects to the suit. As for the feet, I initially had them separate from the suit, however, I found it easier for them to just be connected to the suit so that whoever is helping velcro the spines once I got in didn't have to worry about the feet as well. Here's where I get my latex: www.monstermakers.com/rd-407-mask-making-latex/ It can be ordered in a few colors such as white, black, and tan. You can get latex coloring in a bunch of different colors. For a Miregoji suit your best bet would probably be to order a 5 gallon bucket of white latex, then mix in green and black coloring to get the right skin color. This would be more than enough to complete the suit and allow for future repairs. You could even save some white to make purple for the spines. The coloring can also be painted on the latex, so you could do it that way as well.

I’ve looked on Amazon and there’s only thin sheets used for schools and stuff, also my budget is not a lot, £150 or around $184 and from all the videos I’ve seen that wouldn’t get me anywhere especially since the materials needed cost alot
