I just want to say I really like your breakdown. I agree with everything you both said. For me the biggest thing is I really love Godzilla and I would prefer it to be the center of attention but I totally understand where the director is coming from. I just wished they think of a more creative way to make G-man the center of attention instead of as a cameo. I am sure there are movies or show that has accomplished that.

It's tough to make Godzilla the central character in some dramatic way without attaching too much humanity to him. And if they tried to do that fans would complain that he was weakened. It's hard to make an indestructible reptilian god character be the dramatic focus without stakes. Kong is inherently flawed, broken, alone, and at this stage in the franchise also aging and struggling with being overtaken by the hostile environment. (Which is relatable.) I guess Godzilla is more of a power fantasy that works best when it's him versus the world. But it's fun to see him in this type of movie too. And hey man, thanks for watching! I'm glad you were able to relate to both our points and hope even if you didn't that we made enough sense to at least have a peaceful co-existence. (Like Godzilla and Kong.) There are tons of fans that like to go to war at the first sign of a difference of opinion!

always a pleasure! And of course like I mentioned before I agree with the both of you lol! @@BatChainPuller Nothing will be perfect for sure because film makers also have to choose to present their work that will also generate enough revenues to keep them going. It's not an easy task.

We saw it. You have to go in with the right mindset that this movie is geared toward kids. My daughter is 11 and loved it. My son is 15 and preferred Minus One. We had fun as parents, but my favorite Godzilla films are the more serious ones like Minus One and Shin Godzilla. Still a good time was had by all.
@BatChainPuller8 ай бұрын
I tend to agree that the more serious toned Godzilla films are my personal favorites. But there is no denying the fun that can be had by adopting the right mindset going into any Godzilla movie.

Damn, Those models are Amazing. I bet they cost a lot, but wow. U both are lucky to own them. Where did u get them and out of curiosity, how much did they cost? Anyway, I have heard that Godzilla was not in the movie that much And it was mainly about Kong movie. I have always been a fan of Godzilla, not Kong.
@leonsmith30308 ай бұрын
Ayooo fellow G-man fan! Yeah one of the critics literally said this is a great Kong's movie, which indicated that the movie is made for Kong. The trailers seemed to suggest it is too.

It's true, that Kong was the central Titan character in this film (and the previous) because he is more closely relatable to humans. He is the underdog, has desires and is able to express a wide range of emotions which makes him the more compelling of the two character wise. If all of a sudden they tried doing that kind of stuff with Godzilla I think you'd find that it wouldn't work. I'm personally fine with it because I'd rather have Kong the central focus than have to watch some human drama which rarely works in a Kaiju film (Minus One being an exception!) The models are from 12+ years of collecting and yes some are very expensive. I'll be selling some of them in the next couple months to make room.

@@BatChainPuller They are amazing, but I wouldn't sell them. I know u have to make room, but I think u may regret selling these later on. I have never seen anything like these before. I am amazing at how incredible they look. Any Godzilla fan would love to have these in their collection. But on the end, of course it is your decision. I just have a lot of neca godzilla figures, the original 1985 Godzilla toy, the toys from GvsK and from this movie. My favorite movie is Godzilla 1985, and he basically just walks around destroying things. I think it could be done. I have also subscribed to your channel. U Have alot of cool models or toys that u go thru. Plus u are a Godzilla fan, which is awesome.

@@briandecarlo1847 Thank you kindly for the sub! I flip flop on my favorite version of Godzilla being 1985 and 1971 (Hedorah.) 1985 was SO therapeutic for me because it was Godzilla being taken seriously again after a long period of campy fun. A lot of the collectibles I have will be with me until the day I die, but some I purchased just for review and comparison purposes for this channel specifically. In order to keep doing it I need to sell some, make room, and buy others to keep the Bat Chain Puller train chugging down the track! One of my favorite figures is the Yuji Sakai Godzilla 1984 (85) 30cm figures. I bought two (the RIC light up and standard) and I'll be selling one of them soon. Most of the ones I'm selling are either variants, duplicates, or I have MANY different versions of the same suit/edition and I've just decided the ones I'm going to keep and sell in this phase of the channel and my life.

@@BatChainPuller No problem. I am glad I found this channel. Godzilla 1985 was my first Godzilla movie. I remember watching it on tv. I knew nothing about the character, but I became a fan that night. Godzilla vs Hedorah is a fun movie. I like it 2. But I love the Heisei era. Also Shin Godzilla and of course Minus one. I do understand that u need money and that u are only selling the ones u got just to review. I know I am running out of room for all of my godzilla stuff.

it definitely showed the gorilla go in the lava when skar kicked him in
@BatChainPuller7 ай бұрын
I just recently watched the movie again and I watched closely. They implied a lot of violence off camera. (That scene included) The ape fell off screen and it cut to a wide shot of the lava splashing but they never showed the ape IN the lava or going into the lava. Same with the death of the Titan Lake Eel and Tiamat. But what's strange is they didn't shy away from Kong tearing the Wolf/Boar in half and drenching himself in its green blood, or Godzilla exploding Scylla's head in a splatter of orange goo.

I really liked it. The other guy, not so much. Regardless of how he felt about the film I enjoy hearing opinions from the other side of the fence. I LOVED that he was thinking Jia was going to be one half of a new set of Mothra Twins. But that didn't end up happening. Missed opportunity there. But anyway, yeah, I liked the movie. Warts and all.
