Volko needs to see this. That card mod is brilliant.

Thanks, Bianca! I am liking the results it gives for solo play so far. I might make some tweaks to it for the last card in a campaign, and want to play a bit more with it when there are 4 or 5 active cards in the command deck to see better how it works with that level of activity.

Ruh roh! I'm feeling the pressure now! ;) I'll definitely post more about the tweaks as I go forward. I need to play a couple more scenarios that go through winter and rasputista to get a sense for how the cards play out. And I'm going to test the tweak to the last card in this next turn for this scenario. I should start playing it tomorrow (Tuesday), so I'm hoping next episode coming out on Wednesday. :)

The card mod is great, the only change I might make and I'm play testing is on the second to last card BEFORE seeing the card may choose to sacrifice the last two cards to activate any lord as long as they haven't had three actions already. This is better than a wild card option I believe. That said, this is an amazing play thru as for quality of production and narrative . Great job!

That's a good idea for a tweak at the end. I do think it needs some freedom of choice at the end, so that you don't hesitate to cross the border for fear of getting stuck not levying. And thanks for the kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :)

Hi Zilla, thanks for the great videos, extremely helpful in understanding the game, which is exactly what I was looking for. Something about that weird name on the Rus card, it's "Arch-Bishop-ric". I had to read it 10 times and google it before I got it right myself!
@ZillaBlitz2 жыл бұрын
Glad you've enjoyed the videos and thanks for pointing out the Archbishopric pronunciation. I noticed that while editing, and was like, "Why am I saying it the wrong way?" I'll sort that one out next time it comes up. Thanks again!
@thelastmotel2 жыл бұрын
Arch-bisho-pric is nearer the mark. It's a corruption of "arcebiscoprice". Archdiocese (arch-dye-oh-seez) is the modern term.

I know, right?! What was he thinking? I told him, "Run! You're going to die!" But did he listen? No! ~ I've been thinking about my play as the Teutons in the game so far, and I think what I've not done well is get the Teuton lords working together. I should have emphasized Hermann even more, perhaps, and gotten the Teuton lords to the same place, so we could use Hermann's marshalling feature.

I like your card system for solitaire play and think that it works really well. But, you made me think about it and here are my thoughts on that. Maybe to make your selections a little more predictable, what if you tried this. Your first three card picks would go as 1,3,5, then the unknown cards would go into the 2,4,6 slots. Then shuffle cards 1,2,3 together and they will go on the top of the deck, next shuffle 4,5,6 and they will go on the bottom of the deck. That way your first three moves are somewhat predictable and alining with your strategy, but the end of the campaign, the card picks will be a little more unpredictable. This would still have the unknown factor for when you draw the second set of cards for the other side, but still follow along with your strategy for your game movement. I would try that out, but I don't have either one of the games so not sure how or if that would work. Anyway, that is my two cents. Looking forward to the rest of the play through and keep up the great work. Thanks Zilla.

Thanks, Nerd, and interesting ideas on the modifications. I've noted them down for further thought. This example that we've seen so far, with Hermann not activating, is pretty low odds. And as a player you could guarantee a lord gets picked in the first two rounds by picking the same lord and placing them 1 & 3. They would get picked in the second round at the latest. But I'm going to think about the idea of having more certainty in the earlier stages. The issue I'm finding with the system now that I'm wondering about is the relationship between activation and mustering. Because I don't know who will be coming up at the end of the campaign, it's giving me second thoughts about whether I want to have a lord end his action sequence in enemy territory (where he can't muster). I feel like a little more certainty at the end of the campaign might lead to better results, but the last thing I want to do is to make the whole thing too complicated. Simple is good. I'll keep messing around with it, and thanks for the input! :)

No worries, thanks for the follow up, LM. I do think your criticism is valid, and I've been thinking about adding a "pronunciation check" to series before I start them. I might not be able to get everything correct, but I bet it would be improved if I spent just 15-30 minutes before starting a series to check on some of the pronunciations I'm not familiar with. So I do appreciate the feedback, and will use it to try to improve. :)
