Two reasons that I enjoy your unboxings: you don't wrestle with the shrink-wrap and you are familiar with the contents rather than the "Humm, let's see what we have here" approach.

Thanks, Michael! I'm glad you like the format. :) I still consider this very much a work in progress type of thing, so I'm still looking to add segments that highlight important things in getting to know a game, from the perspective of "how much can I show about this game in roughly 20 minutes without wasting people's time"?
@bgm-1961 Жыл бұрын
Not to detract from the valid compliment paid to Zilla, but the way he did it SHOULD be the way all unboxing videos should be done (i.e., have knowledge of the contents), otherwise you're wasting the viewer's time.

Another Vuca game, although this one I am undecided about, but have added to my wish list. Counters look good, even multi language & readable numbers, for those of us with dodgy eyesight. As for Vuca, might just have to pick a game name out of a hat go for it, as everything within the box looks quality.

Oh, thanks for the kind words! I hope you enjoy the game. It's actually still working its way up the content creation list, so sometime in the next 2 months or so there should be more videos on it. :)

The Japanese Carriers did raid into the Indian Ocean and attacked Ceylon. The British Indian Ocean fleet attempted to intercept but failed to find the Japanese fleets and had to withdraw to refuel. So the fictional scenario allows for the two sides to actually engage, maybe?

Ah, that makes sense, yes. I haven't looked in detail at all of the scenario descriptions, but that sounds very plausible. Thanks!

Fantastic summary. I appreciate your evaluation of the specifics for Solitaire play. I prefer to have a "bot" or at least a complex decision tree for the opponent. So, you helped me in understanding how they define "Solitaire" I. really like your description of the "search" feature, if I could find an opponent I would definitely give this a try. Thank you for another great video! I always look forward to your postings.

Thanks for the kind words, and yes, this one is nearing the top of the pile to explore. I'm looking forward to checking it out in both solitaire and 2-player. :)

OK, kind of wondering WHY they would use thick card stock for things that really don't need it. All my "old" (ancient? classic?) games are fine--even the ones that were heavily played. The 'flimsy' player aids and such are no worse for wear than the heavy map boards. Only thing I can think of is when they sourced the map board they got a discount for getting more of the thicker stock for other things? Ah, checking their site, I guess as you mentioned, they really are just leaning into the "quality in everything" aspect... And now I know the NEXT game I have to look at on my game shelf--Midway! ;-) (Just checked and it has a player screen that was slightly thicker than card stock since it has to stand up, but it's fine after all these years.) I mean, I've done Gettysburg, B-17 Queen of the Skies, The Longest Day (1st scenario), Up Front, The Russian Campaign and currently Russian Front all because of things played / shown / mentioned on your channel. Thanks!

I'm happy that the channel has helped you find some solid gameplay options! That's fantastic! I confess I just like the feel of the tablet-like player aids. :)

Thanks for another great unboxing. I’m also fascinated by the game, but gonna wait and see how it plays as a solitaire experience for you before purchasing it.

I'm curious to see how the full scenarios play solitaire. I think they'll be solid 2-player, of course, but the fog of war mechanic might take a bit of tweaking for solitaire.

Irrespective of the fact that I am very against war, your unboxings and presentations are always top tier and very engaging. Because you are genuine and honest, and that simply cannot be faked. I appreciate your integrity. Thank you. 🌟

Serious question. What's being against war got to do with historical simulations, even if they're games? First, even theoretical pacifists will fight in certain case. Second, learning about something, like cancer, doesn't mean you're pro-cancer. It's possible that learning about war can help you avoid war.
@lifeisagift.cherisheverymoment Жыл бұрын
@@mikem668 Serious answer. Humanity seems to be far more willing to invest far more resources and young lives in the useless endeavor of War than in Peace. Why is that? Far from avoiding war, collectively humanity seems to embrace war.

Which Vuca Simulations game is best suited for Solitaire gameplay?
@ZillaBlitz10 ай бұрын
Of the four I have, I'd say: - Traces of War - Red Strike I liked Chase of the Bismarck solo but it's really designed for 2 players. Task Force is a game I will be creating video for in the next couple of months. The learning scenarios are solo, but the full gameplay sessions are best with 2 players.

Hello Zilla. I love watching your unboxing videos and listening to your comments and considerations on rule complexity and and solitary gameplay suitability. You're the one I follow the most. However, I do get a bit unsaddled when you present snarios (scenarios ?) and rules as "kinda", "sorta"... Are they the actual scenarios and rules ? Sorry for being niggely... ...must be getting old and crabby. Cheers.
@ZillaBlitz Жыл бұрын
Thanks, and thanks for the feedback. :) I confess, I'm not sure what you mean by "kinda" "sorta" when presenting scenarios and rules. Could you say a bit more on that or reference a time in this video when I did this so that I can understand what you mean better? Thanks. :)
