I am American. I lived in India for 1 year: 4 months in Bombay, 4 months in Goa, 2 months in Gujarat. I can tell you, I fell in love with India, especially Goa! (North Goa, Anjuna, Siolim, Mapusa areas). Been back in the states since 2015, and have desired to return to Goa the whole time. There is something special about that place.

A friend sent the link to this video to me. It captures a facet of Goan emigrant life in Mumbai very well. I had feelings of pride for the work of these pioneers and of those who followed them, for their spirit of solidarity and enterprise. Without these Clubs, many Goan emigrants would have been perhaps homeless. These Clubs provided the much needed material and emotional support to make the new comers feel at home, amongst people of their own village. Only those who know the emigrant experience can understand the utter bewilderment, bordering on panic, a young, poor, new arrival feels coming from a village and finding himself in the midst of a huge, crowded, noisy city, where everything is strange, including the language of the land.I bow my head in respect for their spirit of Solidarity and Service. To everyone involved in making this video, my profound Thanks and Gratitude for the excellent work. You captured the Spirit of the Fellowship in a most remarkable way. THANK YOU.

Although I was born in Delhi but from what I recall from my childhood days of listening to my parents especially my father of his deep emotional attachment to these homes away from home and how they ventured on to reach the capital of our great country and make a name and respectable living makes my heart full pride on their unique achievement. Hats off and kudos to Shri Aamir khan productions for taking up a subject like this on Goan immigration since 1850 to Bombay and highlighting the advantages and pitfalls of living in a huge metropolitan city like Mumbai( Bombay). We remain indebted to you Aamir Sir to bring another aspect of Goan life to the fore. May God bless you with a long and healthy life ahead ❤️🎉
