GOES-R - Atlas V 541 launch seen from Cocoa Beach (2016 Nov 19)

The NOAA's next-generation GOES-R weather satellite launched aboard an Atlas V 541 from Cape Canaveral on November 19, 2016 at 6:42 PM ET. GOES-R, the first of four R-series NOAA satellites, will allow higher-quality meteorological observation and prediction of severe storm activity. Following multiple delays due to launch vehicle issues and range issues, the launch proceeded successfully at the very end of the 5:42 - 6:42 PM ET window.
