I sat the Goethe A1 exam today and have passed with Luzi and Johannes' expertise. I have been preparing for 2 weeks only. I didn't know where to begin and had no prior German training. Hi Jamie 👋 This actually depends a bit on the institute where you take the test. Normally there are loud speakers installed in the room somewhere, but I also had students who told me that the examiner used some kind of audio-device with integrated speakers and placed it at his desk. Most likely the audio quality definitely won't be superb 😐. Therefore I it's a good idea to sit close to the audio source/speaker if possible. 🙂👍🙏 Btw. Hi 👋 Not sure about any website for practicing listening skills. But basically you can use any martial that come along with textbooks. Just choose the level that you are in. The more you listen the better. 👍🙂🙏

The first announcement is confusing to me, the sentence translates as - "Daniel's mother should come with information", seems too ambiguous of a question, if the question was does daniels mother go to the information desk, then that would make sense

Hi 👋 Ja, der Test sieht anfangs etwas abschreckend aus, aber wenn man nicht unter Zeitdruck steht, ist es eigentlich kein Problem, den Test zu bestehen. Falls deine Freundin/Frau noch keinen Deutschkurs gemacht hat, sollte sie zuerst einen normalen A1 Kurs, um die Grundkenntnisse zu erwerben. Der muss natürlich nicht bei Goethe sein, die Kurse dort sind normalerweise um einiges teurer als andere Sprachschulen und auch nicht unbedingt besser. Sucht einen Kurs, der am besten 3 mal pro Woche stattfindet. Optimal ist es, wenn zwischen den Kurstagen 1 Tag frei ist, damit sie wiederholen kann. Es gibt natürlich auch Intensivkurse, die Montag-Freitag stattfinden. Das ist allerdings nichts für jeden. Da wird das komplette A1 level in ca 2 Monaten durchgezogen... ziemlich anstrengend und viele Kursteilnehmer kommen nach den ersten 2-3 Wochen nicht mehr richtig mit. Diese Kurse passen am besten zu Studenten, die viel Zeit haben und extrem motiviert sind. Ansonsten könnt ihr euch auch mal unseren A1 Videokurs auf unserer Webseite anschauen. Der bereitet zwar nicht gezielt auf den Test vor, bringt ihr Sprachkenntnisse aber auf das Level, das sie für den Test braucht. Die Lerngeschwindigkeit kann man selbst wählen und jedes Thema so oft wiederholen, wie man möchte. Nur das Sprechen müsstest du mit ihr üben. 🙂 Kannst gerne schreiben, wenn du Fragen hast 🙂👍🙏

How do you know which kind of words you should circle

Just imagine it's an exam to test your English. I think you would most likely have an idea or a good guess which words might be important for finding the answer. If you learnt the vocabulary that you need for this German test you can do exactly the same in the German exam. Important words are often verbs / times / words of negation ... 👍🙂🙏
