All these comments about braid and plugging new rod's, of course Lee will be doing his best to convince people to buy the rods, it's his job, but why was he using braid??? It's banned at Meadowlands 😐😐😐

So why then would a top angler want to slacken off his braid which defeats the object,in other words rods are being designed to use braid,Kerry is obsessed with braid! There are no advantages to braid over mono when in water and tow,it's not the braid or mono that catches fish or rod,it's the hook and bait,don't be fooled. Don't lose fish if you can see the bite they can feel the bite,whatever you use,ask yourself why don't we use it on the pole???

We don't use it on the pole due to the fact we don't need to as you watch a float. Braid has no stretch so bite registration is far superior over mono especially at long range.

Rubbish,prove it!! Bite registration has nothing to do with it,setting the hook has,seeming as all fish hook themselves that's neither here or there is it,whether it rope or an elastic band when it's straight and under tension registration is the same. It's not used on the pole cos you have elastic and elastic does what and why and helps you to not what? Not lose fish!! If anybody cares to watch the Rob Hughes video you will see that there was no advantages between the two at the tip,even he was surprised at the fact.

@@robertwren8878 Some mono has such stretch we could not even believe. You hit a 50m target with mono, and your line will stretch to 55m easily. And this is pretty usual. There are some monos which are not soo stretchy, but there are others where the high stretching capability is one of the key feature. We are not talking about the 2 kg carps here which will bend the rod all the way in case of bite, no matter what line you are using. We are talking about shy bites, where the fish does so little movement with the hook in the mouth, you would not see it with a mono. With free running traditional feeder technics, the braid is really superior to the mono. The reason why we do not use braid on pole, because it is too supple. It is more supple than any kind of mono. This is the reason why so many guys like to use it for method feeder fishing (as hooklength). Using bayonette with braid gives you much smoother bait presentation than any mono would do. Using braid for pole would cause more tangles as well. And no matter how good and light your elastic is, the braid would make the whole rig stiffer. Which is not ideal for float fishing, even if there is advantage of it.

Karoly fodor6 You didn't read my comment properly? You've said braid is supple and stiff. There is no such thing as a shy biting fish,this is an angling term for the failure of the anglers timing! You mention distance so how do you think we all caught at distance before braid? Also paying out a bend in the line when fishing rivers. I agree with what you say only when setting the hook,but it has no advantage over registration when tensioned by the tow and tip and as I said 99.9% of fish hook themselves when it's properly presented. Braid is just another angling phase to catch the angler. BTW have you seen the damage it does to fish let alone fingers?

@@robertwren8878 on free running rigs most of the times you have to set the hook. The fish does not hook themselves. Yes it is working with method, that is the meaning of that style. But fishing for skimmers and roach especially winter, the braid has it advantages over the mono. You will see more bites and will land more fish with braid. For pole rigs you need to have that stretchiness. But the main reason against braid on pole is the tangles. I know what a braid can do to the fingers. And I know that if you care about the fish, then you have to make adjustment in your tackle. Like softer rods, power/feeder gum, mono shock leader. No surprise that many venues banned the braid. But I know a few where the competition anglers are allowed to use it, even when it is banned by default.

Went to shop today to buy but these rods don't come in a 3 pease witch is a shame I like my rods set up in a rod haldal so I can get set up supper fast

I’ve just ordered 3.2 version of this rod to fish local canal and small natural water. Hope there as good as lee says?
