Can i just say? Although the winning teams hitters are phenomenal, the player that really caught my eye was #7 (their setter). He’s incredible; simply fantastic. The speed and precision of every set from ANY angle is just uncanny for a high school player. His awareness of every one of his attackers positions and requirements is just amazing. It’s as if he knows at all times, exactly where each player is and will be, and then he makes a calculated and very precise set straight to the designated attacker. He also has a clear understanding of every hitters strengths, and adjusts his set to flawlessly fit each one. He has perfect control of the ball, and when zoomed in, you can see that his sets have nearly no spin to them (which is what the best sets are supposed to look like). Of course it’s the attackers that score the points -but behind the scenes, i find that a great setter is almost always the key to a strong team.
