In this video, you will learn how to create your very own multi step form without using surveys.
This is something you want to use if:
1. You do not want to use surveys
2. You want to break down your forms into a few pages
These criteria must be met for this to work:
1. Phone and/or Email on every form (Keep it standardized, if you are using Email on the first Form, then use Email on all the forms, and vice versa)
(Keep the Email/Phone hidden on the other forms other than the first form.)
2. Go to Form Settings, Style & Options., Options and look for On Submit
Change the On Submit to "Open URL."
If you are using Phone, use this code

If you are using Email, use this code
?contact_id={{contact.id}}&contact_phone={{contact.phone}}

Thank you so much for the great tutorial! I was able to (finally!) create a lead gen calculator using this multi-form method. I had to end up making 3 forms, because I needed the intermediate form to just kill time while the custom code worked in the background crunching the numbers. Then I added the calculation result field to the URL parameters of the 2nd form, and had that parameter hidden in the 3rd form. Conditional logic on the 3rd form then let me send the contact to one of 6 different results pages! Thank you so much for this tutorial, it filled in the exact steps I needed to complete this calculator!

Great video on hacking HL for the multi-step forms. It looks like the one side effect would be many form submissions would be created and if you have triggers off those they would need adjusting. Possibly throwing off other metrics. I am reviewing if we can hack their JS to do the Multi-step form using 1 form and injecting in some additional html / js.

This is very interesting, thank you for sharing your know-how, Dennis! I have a question: I created a multi-step form and it works fine, but when I insert it in a funnel it doesn't work anymore. Is there a way to create a multi-step form within a page of a funnel?

Thank you Dennis. Question: is there a way to have a dropdown Form within a funnel. Have a button or form button sit within funnel but only open up when click on it, instead of showing all the information needed on the form? Hope I make sense?

Hi Dennis. Excellent overview. New to GHL so apologies for a basic question. Could you accomplish the same result setting first form to use stick contacts and having the contact form elements hidden on second form?

@copcd Good question! Yes, you could do that. If I remember correctly, you'll need to hide the name and phone number and/or email in the second form. The downside of sticky contact is that it only works well when you're filling out the form once. If you try to fill out the form again for someone else on the same computer, it will auto-fill with the details of the first person

once you embed the first form to a website, how do you keep the next steps in the same ?

Tony, the way i set it up is that it goes to the next page, not the , but using im sure its the same by using the code given in the description. good luck!

Welcome! To answer your question, You'll only see the details in the contacts for the fist form filled, and whatever that was not filled (because of abandonment) will be blank

Just a question: why didn't you transfer the data from Form 2 to Form 3, like the 'gender' and the 'additional information'?

Mark Alvin, its because you only need to transfer email or phone and GHL will know that its the same contact

incredible GHL doesn't have multi-step forms built in.

They do in the form just that its in a form of a survey :)
