The song isn't about Evan spreading the letter though. In the video where Will explains the context of the song, it's after Connor stole the letter and it's about how Connor could ruin Evan's life with it. So in a way I think it's not so much a warning as it is Jared just kinda worsening whatever anxiety Evan probably already had about Connor seeing the letter by saying "oh yeah and here's every way it can go wrong" while simultaneously lightly roasting him. Even though Evan can't stop it from spreading even if he wants to. That's kinda what makes me look at that and think "wow what an asshole"
