Same happened to me years ago, and the nurse injected my eye twice to stop me blinking and moving it and she dug the metal out with a needle thingy, and what you may have is a bit of scar tissue from the metal melting itself into your pupil and it will still feel like you have the metal in for weeks maybe months, because mine was exactly the same.

Don't wait with stuff in your eyes, just go to hospital immediately. I have had several trips to the ER at a hospital 20km from my home even though the nearest was within 2km. Just because that hospital had a eye department and eye doctor/surgeon on standby for the ER. They used some kind of hollow drill that cuts a little and socks the splinter away.

Always wear goggles with a grinder Chris. The bits coming off the grinder are travelling really fast and can penetrate the lens of the eye. If it gets into the aqueous humour it can’t be removed. It rusts away and you lose your eye. Look after your mince pies, they’re not replaceable !

Chris look after that eye well mate and try not to rub it when it's itching or irritating you also you said you think its still in there but that could be like when you get grit in your eye and it scratches the surface of the eye that even when it's out you think it's still there it could be the damage from the needle they put in your eye that is making you think it's still in there but then again it could be still there and they missed it. Good to see you finally concur that half shaft struggle. Take care and look after yourself enjoy the rest of the weekend plenty of fosters to keep your mind off your eye. See you on the next one. I get metal in my eye regularly - every month I have a Lucentis injection - into my eye - to try to cure a macular oedema - a fluid pocket in the back of the eye - caused by a Retinal Vein Occlusion. Shit happens. The fluid causes blurred and distorted vision - it's like looking through several layers of net curtains - and straight lines look wavy. Although the thought of having a needle poked into your eye is horrific, don't be worried if you ever need it done - they put anaesthetic drops into your eye, and there is no pain or discomfort whatsoever. After the needle has penetrated your eye, when they press the plunger to pump the medication in, you see loads of grey bubbles rising - like having your own personal Lava Lamp inside your eye.

I know what you're going through, I had a grain of sand embed itself into the front of my eye, had to go to hospital and the Dr had to use a syringe needle to dig it out, the Doc kept telling me to stop moving my eye, I said let me stick a needle in your eye and see how still you can keep it, daft twat. Regarding it still being in your eye, I felt the same but it was the damage they do getting it out with the needle that makes it feel as though its still in there, it repairs itself pretty quickly but is annoying until it does, just thought that might be the case as I doubt they would have left anything behind WooHoo 👁 👍
