Hi Chris. Good job on rag joint. Wheel will look great same color as column.

I hope so. I’m so ready for it to drive.

If you wet the rubber & the bolt first, it'll go in a lot easier... just plain ol' water...oil will make the rubber swell... putting in the steering column, & I'm not even done with my floor yet... coming along though...slow progress is still progress! 🖖🏿😎👍🏿

I didn’t even think of that. I’m pumped to have that in and getting closer to the first drive down the street.

Pretty sure your subs are just as ready to see you driving it! Lol!

Build it with primered wheel and test horn and turnsignal switch. Dont tighten the wheel nut up and it comes apart easier. Dont want to have to pull the gold wheel. Gonna look sharp gold. Also forgot to mention front end alignment. Make sure you index wheel on center of steering box and then adjust toe however is needed to keep the wheel centered. Gotta do this on my vw and my 60 panel. Thanks for video

Definitely. I want to get it all set and drive it before I finish the wheel. I can’t wait to move this on its own.

Yeah wiring can always be a pain. Just take your time doing it.

😂All the 3/0 gauge wire I ran in my expedition has to be removed now after it being there for about 6 months 😅. The truck has too many issues and I'm just going to get a older truck to restore and I will just reinstall everything in it. I just hated that I did all the work to only have to take it all back out. 😂 I hate trucks and cars with computers cause just too many things can go wrong with them and that's why my next truck I get will be old school with no computer and just a basic turbo 350 trans😂.

@@bbay1977 oh definitely that’s why I went so old. I’m a little nervous about the 90 with it’s computers.

Just wanted to let everyone know that If you are adding a power steering box. I would recommend getting a u joint steering shaft off a mid 80 jeep.The connections are identical on the box. It will add the collapsing shaft and solid u joins.Rag joint sucks. The upper shaft U will have to grind down the original steering to fit the double D on the jeep part.I did the bolt through it for safety and also epoxy it for more solid connection and safety. 😂
@RESTORATIONRESCUE Жыл бұрын
If I do change I’ll definitely keep that in mind!

@@RESTORATIONRESCUE looking forward to seeing your 3 speed transmission. Mine is a short one. The length of the 4 speed floor transmission. Only one I have ever seen. Usually they have a tail piece. 🤷♀️

You didn’t cut down the steering column shaft…does that mean you aren’t adding power steering?
@RESTORATIONRESCUE Жыл бұрын
I’m not adding power steering at this time! I like the old fashion too and I think it won’t be horrible

Thanks for the response! Love the channel. I’m in the middle of restoring an inherited 63 from my uncle and this channel is invaluable. Just have to decipher what parts are different with the Pontiac 400 sitting in it 😅

Armstrong power steering, (steering power based on however strong your arms are), isn't all that bad...it only sucks when you aren't moving when moving it steers very easily... I drove mine for years it like that... now that I'm restoring & customizing it though, I'm going power steering this time...
