Going, going, gone! The former Holy Trinity Catholic Church and rectory in downtown Evansville have been razed to clear the site for a 2.3 million gallon underground storm water storage basin that will capture storm water runoff and reduce combination sewer overflows into the Ohio River. Demolition began in September. The surface area of the site is envisioned as an urban greenspace that would incorporate stonework salvaged from former church building in a park setting.
