Thanks Steve this one brought back memories of getting from the west country to Londan airports for early flights at ungodly hours, sometimes travelling across London. I used to rough it by resting on benches to save money. Wise decision to book a hotel for a few hours.

Both trains were pretty empty. I only paid 4 pounds for the fare.

Thanks for showing us the journey. Thought I saw the Gatwick Express train, the first train you got on, so could not understand having to change trains, but I don’t know that area. You will be pleased to get back to some sunshine and warmth! You may have experienced some of the worst weather this winter - here in the north anyway. Safe travels
