The powers are so open-ended in this game, I'd genuinely be surprised if ANYONE knew how to do puzzles the "intended" way. There appear to have been some straightforward ones, but a hell of a lot more where I'm sure I overthought it or straight up cheated. Also, canonically, BotW Link did all the shrines, got the Master Sword, built Tarrey Town, defeated all the Divine Beasts, and slayed Ganon... all without finding a single Korok seed, because Hestu doesn't recognize him, but other NPCs Link helped do.

As much as other games boast about the world and the story adapting to whatever madness you get up to, these games do it perfectly. The story is coherent no matter what order you approach it, I reached the top of one of the temples without the matching power, without doing the questline or even setting foot in the region itself. Made my way via sky islands, reached the actual dungeon, picked up mounds of quality gear on the way up and dropped a travel point. It was definitely tough, I was in no way equipped for the challenges on the way but some wacky solutions (ie absolute madness) made it work. Then when I actually started the quest, I warped right to the front door and it picked up as if nothing happened. It's not making a beeline to the final boss arena, but lesser games would have made the area completely locked off with invisible walls or just teleporting you away if you tried to break their carefully planned sequence.

​@@helplmchoking simply because, the concept of "levelling" is non-existent in Zelda games, the only thing that could help you move forward no matter where you end up are better "gearing" and your own skills. Games with "levelling" locks off areas appropriate to the player's level to justify the unfairness of later enemy stats which could only be overcome by the player's stat grind. Also, not many games are actually as open-world as BOTW/TOTK. Few tried but they're pale imitations.

Generally speaking only sustained fire works against ice in TOTK. Firing an arrow attached with a firefruit doesn't work because there's nothing to burn where the arrow is headed
