he just used secure shell chrome app to ssh into a vm: chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/secure-shell-app/pnhechapfaindjhompbnflcldabbghjo it's been around for a while, .. there's also (imho) a decent mosh client app for chrome os if you're a mosh user: github.com/rpwoodbu/mosh-chrome
