Surprised no one answered this: Yes, those Fatui have always been there. Back in 1.0 it was actually somewhat difficult to farm Fatui, you had to look in some weird places like the slopes of pre-Dragonspine Dragonspine very close to the boundaries.

I had a look when I went out of bounds. It's interesting that they have a mountain range that divides Liyue and Mondstadt waters and Sumeru waters. I wonder if that will end up in the live update for Chenyu Vale. On the subject of Chunyu Vale, they added a new house behind a small cliff next to that Bamboo forest. That's actually not out of bounds, you can go visit it right now. Nothing special, it's just a house, no loot. I'm betting we'll end up there when the story takes us to Chenyu Vale in the future.

@@SlainByTheWire Well, probably we will get the Port(idk the name) that connects Fontaine and Liyue, in 4.2 or 4.4. If I was there to guess, it would be 4.2. We will get a mountain west of the 4.1's expansion in 4.4 and I guess in 4.6 we will get Chenyu Vale and then later in 4.8 we will get a connection to Natlan like a port or something(if we haven't gotten that already in 4.4)

For new players that want to go straight to Fontaine, just pass through Sumeru and unlock Statues there. It's really easy and faster than this. Once you unlock the desert statue near the oasis, the teleportation device to Fontaine unlock automatically. Took me just less than 30 mins with Sayu on my new account. 😄

I've been out of bounds a bunch lately. I took the liberty of marking the exact location of Celestia. I've done a little mapping on the size on the Fontaine plate too. But it's not as easy as you'd think. Not all the waters of Fontaine are programmed to be Fontaine water, and the northern most part will make you character vanish, forcing you to log out so Paimon kicks you back into Mondstadt. Still, it was nice to go onto those beaches in Fontaine and Sumeru that the Paimon barrier prevents you from visiting.

I don't know how to tell you this, but... you already had a teleport available to go directly to fontaine, it's on the other side of the port, on sumeru, where you can pick a boat to ride to fontaine.

Too answer your question, those Fatui have been there since I can remember. I rarely come out there though as there is not a lot worth anything out there. I find it highly likely that this will be a legitimist path someday. The tour guilds say that a path though here is most common for travelers and the path though the desert is the difficult path. Also, it does not seem to make much sense to put the elevator out there if they are not planning on having that as a port in the future.

I imagine that would be Lumidouce Harbor mentioned during World Quest Recollections of a Fontainian. So far, we only know about Yilong Port or Wharf located closed to Chenyu Vale that connected Chenyu Vale to Lumidouce Harbor but we don't know any new area for Mondstadt. Curious if there any new area for Mondstadt other than Dornman Port that will allowed connection to Lumidouce Harbor. Dornman Port should be located between Port Ormos of Sumeru and Ritou of Inazuma.

This glitch is so OP lol, and the fact that the people that found this kept it a secret for a year is mind-blowing. I hope the guy that leaked this glitch to the public step on a lego brick everyday for eternity. Yeah, I am sure Mihoyo already knows about this glitch, so there is no more point in trying to hide, we have to let more people know about it and enjoy it before it gets patched now. Btw, i don't think they will patch this up before the next version or even longer, this glitch doesn't really hurt Mihoyo financially I think.

@@Emma-Maze in case you didn't know, it makes the player invincible but can still deal damage to ANY enemies. It ignores the Paimon barrier which lets you go anywhere you want, including future areas that contain spoilers and such.

Did this some weeks ago, except I went to the tower and climbed on it. For some reason so can’t you climb up all the way to the top of the tower.. I also went to vivianne of the lake and fought her solo Wanderer. The glitch makes you not take dmg from enemies so yeah.

i found a quicker way all you have to do is go where fontaine is on the map and zoom in then there is an unlocked way point and it will automatically teleport you there.

You can explore Fontaine first, no problem. But you will need to go to Liyue eventually for the main quest
