Really want a new design of refrigerator. The French door style is not efficient. I still want water and ice in the door, though. We have a side by side that is okay. I have already thought about this way too much 😂
@sonicpsycho13
@sonicpsycho13 7 ай бұрын
French door puts the most used area (refrigerator) in a more convenient location, but needs to pump cold air from the bottom to cool the fridge. Side-by-side gives a full height refrigeration area, but makes inefficient use of space with a massive separation wall. Old freezer-on-top style is the most energy efficient, but your last used space is taking prime real estate. All 3 designs have tradeoffs. And having an ice dispenser in the door reduces efficiency and sacrifices about 1-3 cu ft of space.

Hey I have that mower!! Now I don't need to mess with gas cans anymore 🤪
@ogcowboy5743
@ogcowboy5743 8 ай бұрын
Just have to mess with keeping the batteries recharged, which after about 5 years will need to be replaced and they no longer make them anymore. So you have to either replace the mower or go to Batteries Plus and have them rebuilt at about $150-$200 each. My gas mower is nearly 20 years old, add gas, check oil, sharpen blade, clean air filter and spark plug, good to go for another mowing season.
@Extinguisher10
@Extinguisher10 8 ай бұрын
@@ogcowboy5743 @ogcowboy5743 Nice try but they still make these batteries. You don't have to like electric. Personally I think it's stupid that California has banned the sale of gas engines of any kind (starting in 2035). But you don't have to come in here spouting lies. You just listed all these things that you have to do with your mower, and while non of those are difficult, I find it easier to leave a battery on a charger (it turns off when fully charged) until it's time to put it in the mower and go. And of course sharpen the blades on occasion just like a gas mower. I hope next time you choose to tout the virtues of your preference, than to lie about someone else's.
@sonicpsycho13
@sonicpsycho13 7 ай бұрын
@Extinguisher10 I was so happy to get rid of all of my gas-powered lawn equipment (mower, trimmer, power washer). Having to keep mixed fuel, worry about old gas, oil changes & disposal, winterizing, clean fuel pumps, clean heads, spilling gas and oil, and the cost and time to drive 30 minutes just to get gas. Electric is so much better. Cheaper, lower maintenance, and quieter. And if it rains literally every weekend for 3 months (like in 2023), my wife or kid can easily operate it during the week, because it's lighter and a push button start.
@sonicpsycho13
@sonicpsycho13 7 ай бұрын
@@ogcowboy5743 my Ego mower has a 56V, 5Ah battery (0.3 kWh) at my local rate ($0.13/kWh) that costs about $0.036 to cut my whole yard. Compare that to about a gallon of gas to cut the yard at an average of about $3/gal. Here in the south, mowing season is about 8 months, cutting every other week, so about 16 mows a year. For gas that comes to about $60/yr in gas and basic maintenance costs (oil, filter, and plug changes) not counting blade replacement or sharpening. For electric, that's $0.60 in electricity or 1% of the cost. According to your estimate, it would be cheaper to buy a new battery at $200 every 5 years than to operate and maintain a gas mower for 5 years ($300 cost). Ignoring the fact that lithium mower batteries are different from 12V lead acid batteries and can last over 10 years and over 1000 charging cycles. At 1000 charges, I can expect my 5Ah battery to last 62.5 years if properly maintained.
@Extinguisher10
@Extinguisher10 7 ай бұрын
@@sonicpsycho13 I said nothing about savings but nice try AGAIN in trying to lie in this comments section. I was talking about how I like the convenience of the mower. Also to go down your rabbit hole, because I might as well prove you wrong again. The Ego isn't what is shown there and hence not the mower I was talking about (Remember my original post said "Hey I have that mower!"). The factory replacement for my battery is $139.99 and I'm still operating on the one that came with the mower which I purchased in the spring of 2016 which comes to nearly 8 years. Once again, you don't have to like electric mowers. That's okay. But coming in here and spouting lies and misleading the conversation just makes you look bad. By all means, if it makes you happy to make a fool of yourself, go ahead and continue. It makes the the video look better in the eyes of the KZbin algorithm so you're helping the guys out.
