GOING TO MY FIRST KPOP CONCERT!!! | Dreamcatcher [Arirang Radio] - Jazz Bar & Chase Me (REACTION)

Dreamcatcher, as a concept, are a touring group, ever since their debuting. This was revealed by DCC's CEO Lee Joo Won, on an interview, during their first year. They became very popular abroad since Chase Me, Good Night and Fly High really took off internationally and they went on their first successful World Tour on the following year, in 2018. Again, their new 2022 World Tour will also be on a global scale, not just the US. They also have Asia + Australia, Europe and South America, with a lot of InSomnia waiting for them. (As opposed to Korea till recently, DC are really loved internationally. The wins just balanced the game.) However, before all that, they will appear in two prestigious venues in Europe, that are scheduled for a long time. In Germany, for KPOP:FLEX in Frankfurt, Germany, in 15 days (May 15), alongside big K-Pop groups, like Mamamoo. And in a huge festival called Primavera Sound Music Festival 2022, in Barcelona, Spain on June 4. You could say that this is unofficially the first leg of their World Tour. Primavera is the highlight of the year for them. It's an even bigger event than the wins, since they're the first South Korean group ever to be invited. Primavera is a huge venue, that is similar to Coachella Valley Festival, in many respects. It's more rock oriented, however. So it's evident from the start that their company, Dreamcatcher Company, didn't wait to capitalize on their wins. They just wanted the group to clear their tough album promotion schedule in Korea, so they can start touring. The two TV show wins just allowed them to finish up a week earlier and prepare for the tour and gave them more prestige and a sense of recognition and closure. But the big money are in touring the World, since that's where they truly shine and because they're loved worldwide. I bet Indonesia and Vietnam, two countries with a huge DC fan base, will be in their radar, for the Asian leg of their World Tour, later this year. Again. And they'll have to go to South America, where they're literally worshiped, by the huge InSomnia fanbases. The Covid years prevented DC from doing all this. But this time, they're back! Enjoy your concert. I bet Chicago will be one of the best venues in the US part of the tour, since it's a big place. And I bet it will fill up with fans and you'll all have a great time. I wonder how the good people of Chicago will react however, when they witness all those InSomnia with their fandom wizard capes and long Mongmongi lightsticks, walking the streets and looking like Gandalf! It will be so much fan!

The growth with Jiu as a leader is actually very admirable. When they re-debut as Dreamcatcher, Jiu being the leader had to take on the role of bringing energy and positivity in the group. You can usually tell in the few shows and public appearances they had (even this radio one with Chase Me), she was always the one that was hyperactive and setting the mood while the members were still not as confident, reserved, and tend to follow her steps). Over the years as the other members gained their confidence, you can see that Jiu, although still chaotic at times, took a step back and played a more supporting/guiding role while the other members showcased their personality. You can really see how relaxed she is now that the other members are able to display their qualities and personalities. I think this kind of adaptability is absolutely amazing to have as a leader and seeing this growth throughout the whole group made me love them even more.

Jiu definitely can go from chaotic to elegant and laid back and back to chaotic at the drop of a hat and I think that’s why I gravitate to her personality slightly more even though I love the whole group!

Agree with this 100%. I was watching their earlier Notes videos and even Sua wasn't as loud and confident then. Jiu was the mood setter. These days though Jiu is more like the dad who hangs back and let the kids run around and do whatever they want lol

Your first K-pop concert, and it's Dreamcatcher? You're in for _such_ a treat! 😁 They were actually my second, in London in October '19, after having seen Stray Kids in July. But I also lucked out in winning a place for their fansign the following day, and as you might expect, they were absolute sweethearts... 🥰 I hope they do announce a European leg in the not _too_ distant future; I can be patient, but it's been far too long since I've seen them already! 5:35 Dreamcatcher can go any damn route they please. Their B-sides and covers have _always_ shown off their versatility, and I think the last couple of albums have only reinforced that even more... They're _always_ hilarious live, but their performances on Arirang Radio always seem to be _extra_ cracky; they always deliver flawless vocals while also being peak clowns. 😜 I'd absolutely recommend going through all of them, but the _really_ iconic one is *Wonderland.* You watch that, you will _never_ hear that song the same way again... 😂 My favourite part of the Chase Me performance was when Siyeon pushed her mic back in preparation for some power notes... that sneaky grin on her face sends me every time... 🤣

Thing about DC and their vocals is that the music would have felt incomplete without all of them. Handong and Dami carry the low sinister range, SuA bridges them to Siyeon's power, JiU handles the high airy notes, Yoohyeon is a happy medium between Jiu's daintiness and Siyeon's raw power, Gahyeon free ranges everywhere providing support vocals to everyone. They add so much texture to their music simply by vocal colours alone. Its one of the reasons why I prefer the live concert versions of their songs from Boca and Scream era because they just feel somehow incomplete without Handong balancing the high and the lows. If any one of them wasn't in the group the music wouldn't hit, however if Siyeon wasn't in the group the concept would have failed entirely since she carried almost all the rock aspect of vocals in the group, she's still the only one who actually uses rock style vocals. Congrats!! Trust me Kpop concerts are some of the best, you’ll have a good time. I couldn’t get tickets for the NY shows but there’s still some tickets for their PA show that I decided to try to get! So if anyone is reading this still wanting to go PA is still available!! But dreamcatcher is known for having shows in Europe and LA so im pretty sure they will announce more dates soon! :)

This is my first concert too. And I am happy that it is Dreamcatcher. The moment I saw they release a date for a tour, I knew that I had to get tickets. I wanted to see them live at least once in my life. I couldn't get SF tickets, but in the last 5 seconds, I managed to get LA tickets. I know that I am going to have a blast there. I hope you enjoy your first concert too! :D Jazz Bar is such a good song. Chase Me never gets old for me, the song that brought me into the black hole that is Dreamcatcher. as 'save us' is the start of the new 'apocalypse' trilogy, i think the upcoming concepts have been planned way ahead and the comebacks shouldn't take that long in between. part 2 and 3 will not be full albums though. they will be mini albums. the solos were just like 7 bonus tracks on this first part. somewhat like with the last trilogy. my crystal ball says part2 around september and part3 around january or february. roughly about 5 months between comebacks. 🔮🤡✌️

Congrats, you're going to love it. Went to our first for SuperM in NYC and with the exception of feeling that the concert was too short, we loved it. We had tickets to see NCT, but covid took care of that. Hope to catch them if they tour in the states again.

I'm in the Netherlands and their only European dates as of now are a festival in Spain and a festival in Germany, and neither are really feasible for me unfortunately, so I hope they announce a European leg to the tour. I used to go to a lot of rock (and other genres) concerts and festivals in the past, haven't really been in the last few years (obviously because of the pandemic but before that as well), but I'll definitely come out for Dreamcatcher!

Good luck on your 1st kpop concert! From my experience, it could be pretty overwhelming for newbies .. by that i mean all the fanchants to memorize, the lighstick game, the fan projects which you would be required to participate in (often, not always) where you would be handed a couple of banners/placards to be used during concerts or other things... again, i dunno the full detail cos i dont follow Dreamcatcher but those things are pretty common in kpop concerts in Asia that i went to/from fan blogs so just prepare yourself.. i also dont know if the US fans also do those kind of fan projects during concerts like the Asian fans

yoohyeon, siyeon, handong dami and gahyeon(?) is introverted actually(mbpti). i don't think jiu is the leader cause of age, she's also the trainee leader despite not beeing the youngest back then. jiu is actually quiete strict back on minx day and early dreamcatcher days. she's also quiete competitive. she said as she gain more experience she learn to be more loose. - jiu back then when asked how to be good leader: i makesure to take care everything right, and makesure the members practice really hard,/ when they said "unnie this is really hard" i still push them and makesure they able to do it. - jiu now: honestly there's no specific way of becoming leader, you just listen to their concern, the member know what to do and they're doing well.

I know they did states in 2019 that didn’t make the current tour list. Florida is one, I think. But there could be a reason for it. Maybe they didn’t sell out for those shows? Or the crew could have had a bad experience? I feel bad for inSomnia in Boise, Idaho or Fargo, North Dakota but these companies need to go where it’s most lucrative and have the most seamless experience playing there.

If it ever seems JiU doesn't talk much, it's probably because one of the other members is talking, and she wants to give them her undivided attention. You may have noticed it before but pay attention when they're doing interviews and the way she looks at whoever is speaking. Literally radiating supportive mum. 2yeon being the cutest sisters always warms my heart. And yess Handong is so pretty. Recently I saw a comment somewhere saying "It took the company a long time to get the right look for her" and I was thinking "You better watch your mouth, she may have been in the background because she had few lines, but she's always looked gorgeous." I didn't actually engage lol because it's a waste of energy but it's nice to hear someone else say how pretty Handong was back in their debut era.

even sua back then in minx day is quiete serious, dami is really young and she's not the best in communicating outside the group. siyeon and yoohyeon rely on sua alot back then for emotional support, both yoohyeon and siyeon feel like confused teen, one of them run away from audition twice, all other big company makesure their idols learn everything right before debut, so they honestly don't feel like rookies. i think that what drawn me into minx back then, they feel awkward and trying to not mess up the reality show, jiu sua keeping the member together etc. seeing them grew up into independent woman and them improving day by days is really touching in a way.
