Nice video. The UP is a beautiful place with plenty to do. Glad to see people exploring that remote part of the country. The “upper peninsula of the upper peninsula” is called the Keweenaw Peninsula. The town of Houghton is on the south side of the Keweenaw Waterway, Hancock is on the north side. Calumet is another town further north.

Great video...as usual! I am always excited to watch your videos because they give good overviews of the area and what to expect. I notice there wasn’t any drone footage in this video. 🤔 I thought the hike to Arvon was a lot longer than it appears in your video? All-Trails app says it’s an 11.2 mile RT hike, but it only looked like a few hundred feet?! Also, you didn’t show what car you drove up there like you usually do on those hard-to-drive HPs (like KY). Could a front wheel drive car make it up there as far as you guys did? That’s what I’ll be driving there this fall. 👍🏼 I’m guessing your next video is Timms Hill in MN, based on what’s closest to Mt. Arvon and of which you haven’t yet posted a video. 😉 Maybe I’ll see you at Charles Mound July 7th, weather permitting? That’s what I’m shooting for since it’s visits are limited. 😐 Take care. Thanks so much for the feedback! I actually had the drone on this trip and took footage of Mount Arvon with it, but it crashed at a later (still undisclosed, lol) highpoint and the footage was all corrupted. I'm working on getting it back up and running but haven't been able to yet. And you might be on the right track there... A little insider information; we actually fell down on the job when it came to researching Charles Mound and essentially failed the highpoint. We were planning on doing it the day after this one, but now we will have to circle back around some other time. As far as the mountain, I was confused beforehand as well, but you can actually drive all the way to the top. We had an AWD SUV this time around and it was nice to have, but I suspect with some caution an FWD one wouldn't be an issue at all.

Not quite, but likely before the year is out! We are essentially starting in the east and moving progressively west, with some exceptions (Mt. Hood might be one)

Do you have any plans for Denali yet?

We do actually! We haven't actually booked anything related to the trip just yet but the tenative date is set. Basically, we just know the month and year we want to attempt it. That's all you really need considering the hike itself takes close to a month.

@@grtshw - I am interested as well, but only if I succeed on Aconcagua first. You have to book Denali almost a year in advance and they have to accept you as a client. A portfolio of high altitude, alpine climbing is necessary. If I go for it, I'll take a Denali prep course the preceding spring then sign up. For example, IMG has already posted the 8 trips they are running in 2023 (64 total clients). I look forward to watching you succeed.
