Grubs are a staple in my tackle box and I'll always dedicate space for them. Killer multi species bait. Fantastic spinnerbait/chatterbait/swimjig trailers too. I like them so much, I make my own 2", 3", and 4" grubs in the garage.

Wow, thanks Mike! This is the best tutorial I've seen since I started fishing this spring. Yes, I am a total newbie! Your video is the best I've seen so far, no lie. You are an excellent online teacher and you taught me more in this video than I've seen in many, many others. You covered the gamut: why the bait works, how to rig it, how to retrieve, and all under different conditions - all in language that I understand! So many instructors just assume audience know the definition of terms. You explain everything without belaboring. OMG, everyone else out there should go to school on you as a presenter! Thank you!!!

Thank you for reviving this old school fish catcher. I have a ton of these-lots more than I have swimbaits.

When I lived in PA. I used the Grub for Smallies and Large Mouth. It killed back then. I move to Florida 5 years ago. Broke out my Grubs and zero bites. A few week ago as it got colder I gave the grub a try again. Suprise at least in the colder months it is working for me again.

Grub or double tail on a ballhead jig is a staple for walleye fishing up north! First lure I’ve ever used if I’m not mistaken.

I've grown as an angler with old school fisherman here in Italy and grubs became one of my must haves in my tackle. I love soo much the usage of this lure with bait finesse tackle, specially with microjigs, with midstrolling and hoverstrolling and other recent rigs!

I absolutely agree with you! Growing up here in the states from the time I first picked up a rod 32-33 years ago until now,curly tail grub's have always had a place in my style of fishing and they are so productive and can't believe how much they get forgotten about these days! Tight lines my friend!

Mike, here in my home province in South Africa we have a LOT of grass in our dams and so we fish mainly unweighted soft pastics texas rigged weedless. The Damiki Fat Albert is a fish producing machine!! We fish it in all different colours from chartruse to to white. My favourite colours are cinamon red, watermelon gold or junebug. My pb (8.23 pounds/ 3.775kg) was caught in October last year on a junebug fat albert. We love this bait even more than senkos or any other soft plastic lures of which we have plenty. Stunning channel!! Tight lines!

I just ordered some Large and HUGE grubs from TEMU. Based on my own fishing experience this summer, I think fish are starting to wise up to swimbaits.
@nathanblake360810 ай бұрын
Nobody has forgotten about these we just don’t talk about them! These are probably one of the most versatile soft baits I’ve ever seen! Trailer use, jig head, Texas rig it doesn’t matter they work! It’s a great bait to put on for kids and just let them drag it or bounce it around or burn it back and they will catch fish no questions asked of all sizes and multiple species!!

I just love how grubs. Some of the things I like about them are, they work on pretty much every species of fish, you can fish it in almost every way, lots of people don’t throw them so fish are typically not used to seeing them. And they are usually pretty dang cheap.

The grub use to be what people use a small swimbait for today but the grub is better at certain times. I think every serious bass fisherman has caught a bass on a smoke grub in early spring and winter. I still use them and they still eat them. Good topic Mike.

Awesome! I have grubs and your threading the grub and retrieving the grub really explain how I should be fishing them. I'll try them out this spring! I fish both largemouth and smallmouth (smallies are my favorite) and I figure the "snap" should be great! Thanks! Roger, The Smiling BassHole

I like this grub especially the 4 inch I use the Yamamoto fat ika all the time my #1 bait even though it’s consider a tube. The grub is similar but I like the tail action of the grub better. I think it’s has better action than the Ika depending on the time of year you throw it tail up or down like you said. Another Great video ty IKEMASTER 🎣 👑

I have a few questions if you have time. I'm thinking to purchase a BFS combo so I can throw lighter baits using a casting reel. I have several Johnny Morrison reels, but they don't cast the small baits very far. Anyway, I need some advice about this. I was thinking of the curado BFS and wonder what you thought or if you'd recommend something else. I went fishing yesterday evening and caught two bass once it got dark. I caught them on a Matt Shad Vision 110 Jr.
