Travel Documentary Kosovo, Part 1. 🇽🇰 Is Kosovo still a war zone? Would we recommend you to travel there? Is it safe? We share with you our first-hand experience of Kosovo country in 2022.
Currently, the media are constantly reporting conflicts between ethnic Albanians and ethnic Serbs …
Yet, apart from these inherent tensions, there is also a very normal life in a very captivating country, which is worth discovering. Dua Lipa and Rita Ora, to name just a few examples, are proud representatives of their birth country Kosovo.
In our travel video, we shed light on this very young country that declared itself independent from Serbia in 2008, even though Serbia still considers Kosovo part of its territory. Most European countries, the United States, Australia, etc. recognize Kosovo’s independence, but a significant number of others do not (such as Serbia, China, Russia etc.).
Join us for a deep dive into Kosovo’s capital Pristina and the surrounding area. We bring in the shadows of the past (Kosovo War, Kosovo Liberation Army UÇK etc.) and throw light on present day life. Explore with us interesting (majority Albanian and Serb) villages, beautiful landscapes, unique people - and gain many insights.
We take you on a journey to a land that is still unknown to many! You will be intrigued.
00:00 Intro
01:11 Pristina - Newborn, Mother Teresa Boulevard, Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, National Library

As a christian kosovar albania i can say that religios tolarance is in fact one of our strengths. The constituion gives ethnic minorities more rights than any western country does. Serbs all over Kosovo live in peace with Albanians with the exception of Serbs living in the North Kosovo. Albanians have moved on but Serbs in the North are still beeingbrainwashed by Serbian Propaganda and Nationalistic ideas. I hope that the Serbs in the North can one day similar to Serbs in the East, West and South live in peace with the albanians. Kosovo is the most democratic country in the western balkans, its the most pro-european, its the least corrupt, it has had 2 female presidents in its 15years of statehood, ... I am proud to be a citizen of this small but amazing country

In the book, Del Ponte writes that her investigators visited a house in the remote mountainous region outside Burrel, Albania, which was allegedly being used as an impromptu clinic for the butchering of 300 young Serbs captured by the Kosovo Liberation Army and transported in lorries across the border from Kosovo to Albania. According to witnesses - including one who said he had driven some of the organs to Tirana airport, and a team of unnamed journalists who investigated the allegations - the victims had their kidneys removed before being killed later and having other organs taken. "Prisoners were aware of the fate that awaited them, and according to the source pleaded, terrified, to be killed immediately," Del Ponte writes. The "house-clinic" was visited by UN officials from Kosovo and tribunal investigators. "The team was shocked by what they saw," said Chuck Sudetic, a former tribunal official who is joint author of the book. "They found gauze and vials of medicines, including a muscle relaxer used during surgery." Witness accounts, indirectly provided to Del Ponte, indicated that some of the victims were buried near the house and at a nearby cemetery. Forensic tests in the house revealed traces of blood, but investigators were unable to establish whether it was human blood. The victims were said to include Albanians and trafficked women from Russia and eastern Europe forced to work as prostitutes. Del Ponte has long complained that the UN authorities in Kosovo blocked her attempts to investigate war crimes by Kosovan Albanians and she says that the authorities in Albania were also unhelpful. The most senior Kosovan Albanian to be tried for war crimes in The Hague, Ramush Haradinaj, a former prime minister of Kosovo and ex-guerrilla commander, was acquitted last week, sparking bitter protests in Serbia. According to Del Ponte, a local Albanian prosecutor, who visited the house with the UN team, told her: "No Serbs are buried here. But if they did bring Serbs over the border from Kosovo and killed them, they did a good thing." The alleged organ harvesting is said to have been uncovered by journalists who called in the UN in Kosovo and provided information to the tribunal. "There were credible accounts of abductions and an organ harvesting operation provided to reputable journalists who have had many years of experience in the region," said Sudetic. The journalists refused to identify their witnesses. Other sources claim the body parts were flown to Istanbul where they were transplanted into wealthy Arab patients. Del Ponte's account is the first time such allegations have come from such an authoritative source. But officials and analysts are surprised that she should choose to air them now, five years after her investigators went to the alleged scene of the crime. Del Ponte writes that it proved impossible at the time to pursue a full investigation of the claims. "I am surprised at the extraordinary serious allegations," said one senior tribunal official. "These allegations have formed no part of any investigation by the prosecution at the tribunal." Mirko Klarin, an authority on the tribunal and Balkan war crimes at the Institute for War and Peace Reporting, described Del Ponte's allegations as "irresponsible and appalling ... This is more journalistic than prosecutorial. She shouldn't put rumours in her book." The Swiss foreign ministry barred Del Ponte, now its ambassador to Argentina, from attending her book launch and ordered her to keep quiet. Senior Swiss figures are calling for her resignation. "All I know is that she was eager to talk about the book after its publication," said Sudetic. According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which mediates confidential talks between Serbia and Kosovo to try to locate and identify those who vanished in the 1998-99 war, there are still 1,967 people missing. The majority are believed to be Kosovan Albanians. The 300 Serbs said to have been transported to Burrel would constitute a large part of the missing Serbs. While there is widespread scepticism about the veracity of the claims, Human Rights Watch said Del Ponte had supplied "sufficiently grave evidence" to warrant an investigation by the Kosovo and Albanian authorities. "Perhaps by bringing this story out now, the witnesses will step forward," said Sudetic. "Perhaps the persons who are responsible for the abductions will worry about the law catching up with them. Any persons who may have taken part in the alleged organ harvesting will sleep a little less soundly." Profile

Me as an Albanian person who lives in Kosova,i LOVE Kosova. It's a traditional country and one of the newest countriest in Europe. It's also counted as the poorest country in Europe/Balkan but the Politicians and the other workers are trying to do they're best, they put all the effort on upgrading Kosova.Honestly when I see these kind of videos of other people from other countries visiting Kosova and supporting it since its kind of an unknown country, I honestly appreciate it how you try to make us know and it makes me so proud, and you presented it the RIGHT way like PERFECT! Great job! Love from Kosova!

Nije videla sve one uništene cvrkve i manastire, njih preko 150 do temelja, spaljene kuće i ljude u njima! U videu stoji pred spomenicima teroristima, divi im se i žali, ne znajući šta su i ko su! Jadno, da jadnije ne može da bude!

Unfortunatly many of us have to leave Kosovo because of the unemployment, its true that its only been a few years since the war but still there should have been more industries where people can work. Fun fact- many of students who graduated work in coffees as a waiter... literally my sister graduated from Psychology university and now she works in a bakery in croatia. so yeah thats why we leave Kosovo and go to work in Germany switerzland croatia etc.

@@tonino5268 when Russia finds a territory where its people are threatened, it is not okay, but when America bombs a country that is thousands of kilometers away from it, it is a completely fair and legitimate confiscation of territory. Kosovo is not yours but American, most factories and mines in Kosovo are American and we don't ask at all, but America and Russia. Serbia supports Russia precisely because of that injustice, if the USA can do it, then so can Russia. Russia has always been a friendly country to Serbia and always helped it except in 99 when it was weakened and could not, then America did what it wanted in the world, which today it cannot do because of Russia. That's why Serbs love Russia

The entire problem lies simply in the missmanagement on both sides which resulted in, what can undoubtedly be called, a series of terrorist attacks and attrocities on both sides. I've been researching Yugoslav wars of the 90's in general for years now and I can state that all of the events would have either never happened or would have happened in a much more peaceful way than they did. Btw, great video I love it and as a guy who was born and grew up in Serbia I can say that this is by far the most accurate video regarding the topic. Keep it up with the work.

Yugoslavia inhabited Albanians from Albania, they settled in Kosovo and Metohija, gave them food, land, work, media in Albanian, health care, and education, all in Albanian language, plus social care, from the '60 to the '90. In that time, Kosovo Albanians didn't work, the majority. They lived off social care and procreated. Durring the 80's, a paramilitary, terroristic organisation, UCK was born and created conflicts that Milosevic harshly destroyed during the 90 and NATO intervened and taken our land from us. NATO bombed whole Serbia, Vojvodina, Belgrade, Nis, Bridges, Hospitals, civil landmarks, killing innocent people... Thats it. Simple. Serbia will enter EU in its totality, as a whole, with Kosovo within its borders. We don't need another Muslim country in the heart of Europe. This is a serious matter and no promotional videos with a kind girly voice will change that. There is a law!
