I’ve now seen this movie Five Times in theaters, as of now it is easily one of the best Godzilla movies ever made, it’s made it in my Top 3 alongside Gojira(1954) and Shin Gojira. Great story, great pacing, great atmosphere, great characters, great acting, great effects, and definitely one of the best Depictions of Godzilla to this day right up there with 1954, 1984, GMK, and Shin. P.S. Please Toho, for the of all that is Kaiju, make this an actual series, no more reboots, we’ve had enough as it is.

Regarding black rain (from someone who collects radioactive items and loves radiation science), I cannot express how horrifically radioactive the stuff is. All of the ionizing radioisotopes attach to the debris and rain and fall with it. Every drop of rain contains millisieverts worth of fission products such as uranium, cesium-137, and plutonium. It’s considered heavy contamination and Shikishima would have had to have found a shower immediately and replace his clothes. Also black rain causes radiation burns. I hate to say it but if that black rain did indeed have nonfissile material in it, he is as good as dead. Noriko will be fine though because that was a Godzilla cell on her neck which is explains her regeneration as she would have been torn to shreds by the millions of pounds of debris that hit her.

I just saw this on Saturday with my two older brothers and it was awesome. Best human story of any Godzilla or kaiju movie, the most terrifying Godzilla ever made, best visual effects of any movie that has come out this year hands down, the most destructive atomic breath Godzilla has ever had, and one of the best early Christmas presents to ever get. I do hope that Toho extends it's release again because I want to go see it again.

This film was an amazing experience in the theaters, and is for me for sure one of the best Godzilla films of all time, and for me the best film of 2023. Also I might be overthinking this, but I noticed that when Godzilla charges his atomic breath, his spines act almost like reactor control rods, going up to increase radioactivity while also sucking up oxygen to further increase it, then slamming them back it to "explode" that energy out.

Came from the second viewing today. Been watching the original minus one trailer repeatedly because I actually can't stop watching/immersing myself with this absolutely awesome movie. Its easily my favorite G movie, along with the 54 original which was incredible for it's era and its budget as well. When I saw her push him into the alley and she is blown away...I literally unconsciously burst out "No!" Then his breakdown in the rain...I was destroyed.😢 The Kyushu "Shinden" aircraft at the end is actually a real thing, and the seat is very similar to that used in the German He-219 which was all real as well.
I was surprised how good Godzilla Minus-One was. The human characters were actually interesting and likable. It had good acting. And Godzilla is actually scary in this. And I just love the soundtrack. They did a good job with this film. In my opinion, this is probably the best this franchise has since the original 50s movie. I wanted the 2014 movie to have been like this. 9 out of 10 for me.

GODZILLA MINUS ONE is the movie that will win over and convert most non Gojira fans into fans. I went and saw this on Friday the 8th. I always had GOJIRA 1954 and SHIN GODZILLA tied as the best GODZILLA movie. GODZILLA MINUS ONE knocked them into a very close second place. I loved how brutal Godzilla was in this movie. I have never seen him that brutal, the way he tossed around the mechanics on Odo Island, and they way he throws around boats and trains later on. I'm already wanting to buy the Blu-ray. Also, this movie had the best human story line of any film in the series, and, better than most mainstream films that have been released. And, I can't forget to mention the score. It was subtle, beautiful, and very unnerving in the right places. I love the way they did reuse Akire Ifikube's score without over using it.

Finally got to watch the movie today. And I love it so much. I got one heck of an experience in theaters. It's like I'm experiencing the horrors of Gojira around 1954 when that movie was released around that time. The movies definitely shows how much of a terror a giant monster can be when it rampages and causes devastating results. I like the design of Godzilla here. It's like a combination of the Heisei Godzilla, Gojira, and a bit on Shin Godzilla because on how the radiation affects this monster. Even the use of its own Atomic Blast, which this incarnation's interpretation of it is interesting, but with drawbacks. And then seeing how the people (or people that has experience World War 2) handle the situation. I love the emotion and determination to kill something so destructive. Loved it playing the original Gojira theme for not just Godzilla himself, but also for the veterans too . Overall, I really enjoyed this movie. Especially watching a Toho Godzilla movie like this in theaters. I love it so much! Despite some problems in it. Curious to see what other Godzilla related things Toho may have in mind. And curious to see how the other Godzilla movie that's coming out, Godzilla x Kong: New Empire, will go.

Great review bro! It's truly an amazing time to be a Godzilla fan, I never thought that my most favorite film character who would be considered very niche some years ago would get such critical acclaim. Right now it's probably at 4 or 5 on my top ten Goji films. One of my favorite scenes was that salute to Goji at the end by all men that engaged him in battle. FYI, decompression normally would take hours, possibly even days, to avoid after being that deep. They were so desperate to raise him out of the water because it would do the most damage when the pressure changed as he breached the surface. The timeskip from the tugboats showing up to them yanking him up wouldn't make a difference to the damage done to Godzilla.

This movie will end up with multiple Oscar nominations, even with the claim by some tha AMPAS wants to toe the ESG/DEI line. I wouldn't surprised it get nominations for Best Picture, Best Director and possibly Best Original Screenplay for Takeshi Yamazaki, Best Actor for Ryunosuke Kamiki, and possibly even Best Supporting Actress (at minimum) for Minami Hamabe. When people say that it's a great movie even if you subtract out the Godzilla scenes, you know we have a major winner here.

Godzilla Minus One Is Phenomenal & Truly Film Of 2023! I say it's equal to the original Godzilla 1954! Something I forgot to mention on your 1st Impressions/Thoughts of Godzilla: Minus One video, before the film was released I was rewatching most the trailers over & over again (There were some I didn't watch until after I saw the film.), & not looking up the film in order to avoid spoilers & it definitely paid off. When I went to the Early Access Fan Event Screening my eyes were glued to the screen when it started & the film was full of moments that made my eyes widen & my jaw drop, like there was so many things I didn't expect. I can go on & on about how Phenomenal this film is, It's A Masterpiece. I'm thinking of going to see it again in theaters & I'm looking forward to when it gets released on DVD. Also, I asked the theater I went to see the film at if I could have the Godzilla Minus One Poster when they're done with it & they said yes! They're going to call me to get the poster next week, I can't wait! Great Video As Always GojiFan93!

Gonna have to break your heart on this one. The thing that happened to Noriko did happen in the real world. There are some people who survived the shockwave from Little boy. There is even a man who survived being struck by *both* A Bombs. The first sucked him up into the air and threw him into a farm. The second shockwave hit him hard enough to shred the bandages off his body. It is realistic that she could have been one of the lucky ones who survived. Now.... the Fallout they all bathed in and necrotic tissue on her neck that will most likely kill her. Or at least horribly cripple and disfigure her.

Sumiko ended up being one of my favorite characters simply for the fact that she was not relegated to the status of the one-dimensional Karen that her first appearance suggested.

Yes, at first I didn't like her because of how mean she was to Koichi (even though it fits the time period) but later I grew to love her how she became a helping hand.
@ryandtibbetts2962 Жыл бұрын
@@gojifan93 given her initial hostility towards Koichi and disapproval of his and Noriko's living arrangements, Sumiko's decision to give up her stash of rice to feed Akiko was an act of selflessness that caught me by surprise. I realized... quite happily... that I had misjudged her. As the movie progressed, she overcame her grief for her children, forgave Koichi (implied rather than actually stated), and became a good friend to them and caretaker to Akiko.

I’m not sure about dates but southern Europe was also experiencing some communist civil wars. Greece comes to mind and there was 1 or 2 more. Also it seemed like the us did lose some ships to Godzilla. There’s a scene with a map following Godzillas path and it has several ships that are noted to be destroyed. I think they were American
