I didn’t think Unleashed’s controls were bad as I managed to “get” them pretty well and even taught 5 year olds how to play the game effectively. Main issue is the controls are very unconventional, which ironically meant people who played games more had a harder time grasping the controls. And that can certainly be considered a failing since asking people to unlearn what they know and then relearn something completely different solely for a single game is a tall ask. So I get the complaints, but I like them. So Unleashed is my favorite of the bunch, since once you get past the controls, the sheer amount of content you get with that game is incredible.

I just love how large the monsters were in DAMM. The sequel scaled everything down and I remember being so disappointed you could no longer kick the cars around lol A minor detail I always loved too was the fidelity of the destruction felt way cooler in that when you knocked down the buildings their debris was largely unique and would spill out and cover the streets, whereas in STE 90%+ of all the structures would just collapse into identical, neat piles of grey.

For a remake of this trilogy, one feature it should have is a free roam adventure field with no boundaries so you can explore areas that are usually blocked off in the main game & buildings that respawn after a specific amount of time. And New monsters that should be featured are Hedorah since he was mainly an NPC, Gorosaurus, Showa Moguera & Kong Kong.

A Japanese publisher like (Konami, Capcom, Tecmo, Square Enix, or SNK) and developer Pipeworks software should remaster the trilogy and put all three into one game. Have the ps2 and Wii monsters in one game in Unleashed. Some of the cheats that you input in the game can just be unlocked or in the game already by not activating them and just be featured in game modes. The GBA and DS Godzilla games can be included in the collection. Have remastered graphics and sound. They can release it for PS4, PS5, Switch, Steam, and Xbox Series X.

I grew up with Unleashed so I'm pretty biased for it. But yea, I have to agree that the controls shouldn't have been motion-based and there were some lackluster elements. Since I've only played it and never got the chance for the other two, I've pretty much adapted to the controls and have no problem with them. The custom matches tho were pretty cool. I do wish the PSP version came out, just to see what could have been. I remember I only got the PS2 version because it had Battra and proceeded to hardly touch it again, same with the PS2

Godzilla DAMM was my first ever introduction to the world of godzilla, been hooked on the entire franschise ever since, and it's still a really fun and challanging game even today, and the graphics are the best in the entire trilogy lmao

I'm going to be honest, playing Godzilla unleashed on the Wii, especially as Spacegodzilla, was the moment I realized that any Godzilla property can be objectively bad. It was my bursting of the bubble, or the slaughtering of the sacred cow.

"Godzilla Unleashed" (Wii version) is not only my favorite Godzilla game but its also my favorite video game of all time period (yes thats right I said it). And the reason why is not just simply because of my nostalgia or that theres so many monsters in the game. It's because when you sit down and think about it the story in this game is ability bonkers and I love it. I mean you have Sydney completely frozen, Seattle covered in lava from a massive volcano, a big chunk of London floating in the sky, etc. Pretty much the end of the world type of scenario and at the same time you have giant monsters and alien invaders all over the planet, its awesome. Another reason why I like the game so much is because im probably one of the few people that actually likes the Wii controls (but thats a whole other discussion lol). One of the things I do agree with you on is that I really like that they separated the monsters into different factions, I really like that concept and I hope they do something similar in a future project (doesn't matter if its in a new game, movie, tv show etc). 🎮🏝🦖🌋📺

I never had the chance to play save the world and Unleash because I never had Xbox, ps2, or Wii. The only one I had was a GameCube so I was able to play was Destroy all Monster melee.

Honestly? Unleashed was my favorite, I have a lot of fond memories playing it with cousins and siblings, and it helped me find out about a ton of kaiju back then. I need to revisit it now that I’ve played more of Save the Earth.

The pipe works trilogy was good since I do own the trilogy sadly Unleashed has problems even thoughmy copy is the PS2 version. I have my reviews for all three on Amazon. I actually still have my cheat codes for the first 2 games. heck I have even imagine what the continuity is like for the games. Godzilla Destroy all monsters Melee was great when I had rented it on the Gamecube through Hollywood Video and I still have my xbox version which is great. The Controls were great and it felt like the monsters had weight. the music is good and it fits. The End credits was also amazing having the Godzilla march from Godzilla vs King Ghidorah(1991) was a nice nod to the films. Godzilla Save the Earth was just as good as the previous and with more monsters the story was good including the true ending when playing it on Hard mode. it does have some problems in terms of gameplay and graphics wise challenges being added during the story mode was a problem music is ok still prefer Destroy All Monsters Melee interms of music sadly we don't get the end credits. I do like the fact that all the monsters have there own rage abilities and animations. Godzilla Unleashed was a mess whether it was on the PS2 and the NIntendo Wii the controls are garbage the fact it wasn't on the Xbox 360 or PS3 wasn't good the Wii version had more monsters while the PS2 version had less while the PS2 version was a very slow chugged version of Save the earth the audio was bad. Unleashed has some things I like but the negatives hold it back more and from what I saw of the Wii version its even more broken. To this day these games are the peak when it comes to fighting games and while Save the Earth and Destroy All Monsters Melee I have fond memories of Unleashed is what holds the trilogy back. Some times I wish either Sony or Microsoft would go to Atari to buy the games and re release them and maybe they can fix unleashed to be better.

I played melee on the gamecube wity my cousins. Then i played save the earth. SAVE THE EARTH WAS FUCKING it YUP!!! But I agree. 6 year old me suppose say the game definitely had a serios tone. Some of the levels felt depressing. Sort of reminded me of some of the scenes from Godzilla 1998 with the dreary rainy day vibes. But honestly it was fun. I got unleashed on the ps2 not knowing that it didn't have the monsters that win version had. I was disappointed. It was save the earth with a slight story , everything else was the same lol. I think obsidias was a rescinded Orga and Batra was Mothra reskinned. I'm not going to lie Godzilla Save the Earth Melee looks fucking epic. Down the line the monsters and enemies we get could be crazy. Not just remastered and revitalized skins but like actual new monsters. We could get Bagan,King Kong, Monster X, Keizer chidorah, all the cool monsters from the monsterverse. But I think right now it'd be best to build up the base roster, especially . Godzilla 1990s ,Chidorah, Mecha Chidorah, the og Mechagodzilla,Anguirus,Mothra,,Baragon,Varon,Titansauras and a few others.

Considering how rare and expensive these are unless they’re ported over to PS4 and PS5 I’ll probably never play them which is a shame because they look fun. Screw you Toho for not letting Atari and Pipeworks port these over to modern consoles

The PS4 game is different enough that I feel it's unfair to compare. These are fighting games where as the PS4 game was more of a simulator like Generations was.
