There are plenty of metal song that give you several minutes of intro before lyrics. Actually I suspect that especially metal is one of the genres, where the vocals taking the backseat is more prevalent, due to high focus and importance of instrumentation.

Lol I also ran back the song to listen to the drop. And yeah, Joe's vocals are very powerful and controlled. That's probably why most people enjoy his screams. Gojira is pretty good at balancing out the screaming with catchy riffs and amazing drumming. I highly recommend the songs Toxic Garbage Island and The Gift Of Guilt.

@John Smith got you on the pronunciation, its go-jee-ruh. They are a French death metal band who's lyrics are largely centered on Environmental themes, and they used to call themselves Godzilla for that reason. They changed it to the Japanese spelling Gojira.

I'm old school metal head who believes that you can sing and still be heavy i.e. Ozzy/ Metallica but Gojira is sooo good they get a pass. Live they are amazing still clean & clear! For black metal origins Sepultura Bloody Roots has killer groove and a wtf black metal/ pop band Babymetal Gimme Chocolate may spin your head
