I think they made it. Check out the first suit fitting vid on the related videos and you'll see the head when it was under construction. Oh yeah, awsome costume!

im trying to make one too. ive heard that they used polytherane foam for the padding on the inside, and in '54, they used liquid latex for the skin. thats all I know. i guess exactly how to go about manipulating these materials is up to us. good luck!

paper machet will rip at the joints. even if you cover it with flexible material, you will still have ripping underneath, and you'll have falling dust and debris inside the suit. im actually going to the art store today to see what different types of liquid latex there are. im also trying to figure out the auto-mouth opening too. we should share updates.
