I just wanted to know as in what way, and then it ends up as a conversation (amazing) which Megumi later applies (also amazing). Subtle, noticeable, and no loose ends. Grade A writing.

Baseball or any inclusion of sports in animes are usually used as a determinate for each characters' trope as the inclusion in the first place is for comedic purposes. I remembered Samurai Champloo included a baseball episode too and it was used for both comedy and character development. This episode showed a lot of those. Megumi is a smart fighter who knows his limit and therefore fights accordingly. Mai is not particularly strong so she twists the rules to her advantage. Maki is talented but she lacks the power that Yuji has. And Todo is generally "disliked" by his peers because he's too loud but at the same time is both smart and strong and cannot be defeated by them head-on.

I think it's because Gojo is the opposite of Utahime in every way, and Utahime probably wanted to be like Gojo but can't. That's the source of annoyance, maybe. Remember what Momo said about women sorcerer vs. male sorcerer. Gojo is the strongest and handsome. Utahime is "weak" and has "scar". Even when talking about Black Flash, comparison was made between Gojo and Utahime side by side to suggest "huge" differences in ability.

Some more details of this ship- In the last episode of the season, there is a scene where Gojo and Utahime were talking on the phone, in the anime they talk for 40 sec but if you pay close attention to Gojo's phone you will see the time of their conversation was 3min 40sec. And again in the last episode in that conversation scene, Utahime was wearing a black t-shirt which was similar to the t-shirt that Gojo wore while training Megumi.
