Puhleeese, it is not Nasi "GeerAAng". It is Nasi "go RING". It is not "key cup ma NAY". It is "ketchup mah nees". This is Nasi Gok Wan. And a Nasi Goreng (Malay for "Rice Fried") must have Sambal. Otherwise it's just another ordinary Chinese fried rice. Sambal is an intrinsic, indigenous and very significant ingredient and condiment in SE Asia. Sambal's primary ingredients are chili and fermented shrimp paste, and so has a very distinctive and very pronounced taste that sets Nasi Goreng apart from regular fried rice.
