About Gokarna :
Gokarna is a small temple town on the western coast of India in the state of Karnataka,India. Gokarna means cow's ear. Gokarna is not only famous for its beaches but also famous for its caves, waterfalls, fort, temples. Gokarna is about 700 km from Mumbai. You can reach Gokarna from Mumbai by roadways through NH-48 highway .You can reach Gokarna by train. The nearest Railway station is Gokarna Road. Nearest Airport is Goa International Airport.
Places to visit in Gokarna:
1. Yana Caves : If you are in gokarna its a must visit place. Yana is famous for its huge rocks. The Yana caves as an ancient temple Shri Bhairaveshwara temple .

2. Vibhooti Falls: The word "Vibhooti " means limestone. The water in this falls comes past limestone rocks near Yana and so the falls is called as "Vibhooti Falls". The falls are beautiful and its altogether an mesmerizing experience to be there.

3. Mirjan Fort : The Mirjan Fort is located on the west coast of the Uttara Kannada district. The fort known for its architectural elegance was the location of several battles in the past.

4. Mahabaleshwar Temple :The temple is famous for its Atmalinga or Shiva Linga. If you want to enter the temple premises, it is compulsory for men to wear lungi and for women to wear sari or churidar.
