did you read the manga? the quest is almost always to GET those dragon balls. in the saiyan saga they don't have dragon balls, so they go to namek, in the freezer saga that's the whole point, in the cell saga first God dies so no more, then yes they have them but it's useless unless they actually defeat cell. same in the buu saga, with him around it's impossible to get them, and yet they did in the end. Dragon balls never were something that drove the story down, but what actually makes the story in the first place. when a character dies, it's never ''oh well we will resurrect him'', it's ''shit we lost someone that we either can't revive as it is, or don't know if we're gonna survive to resurrect them.

No. This time, Krillin already died and revived once. It is well known in Dragon Ball that you cannot resurrect the dead more than once. Also, the Namekian Dragon Balls are stone. So there is no way Krillin could ever be revived anymore. Krillin is dead. Forever. That is what I knew when I first watched it on Television. Then I had to wait a few days before we could get the next episodes.
