Pretty sure the actress who plays Yankumi and the guy who plays Shin in the live action actually dated in real life but broke up badly. Not sure though if it’s the reason why Shin never came back during season 2, 3 and the movie or if it was scheduling conflict. That’s why it seems like in the live action movie it’s Ryu Odagiri who seems to be taking Shin’s place but not as a lawyer or police but as a teacher, working alongside Yankumi. In the movie it kinda implied that Ryu requested to start his I think OJT as a teacher where Yankumi is working. I could be wrong but that’s what it seemed like. He knew where Yankumi works and chose that school. That’s why in this video it seems like Ryu is wearing a suit, it’s because he’s working as teacher with Yankumi.
