Apple knows how to present their products to customers by delivering it in a very fancy packaging. Apple's first fancy box was 1998 iMac and of course they kept this till this day. before Apple nobody cared about the boxes it was just a disposable cartoon. You got to give Apple credit for this detail.

James Plata Stop. Apple always sets the standard. After the iMac we got Windows. After the iPhone, we got Android. Apple put an auxiliary input in the iPhone, now everyone puts auxiliary inputs. I could go on for hours listing everything. No one is saying Apple originates everything. We are saying that they “set the standard.” When Apple does something, everyone follows. They got rid of their headphone jack and then everyone is getting rid of theirs. Androids notices Emojis being a hit, then they added their own variation. They seen Siri become a hit, we got S Voice and Google Assist, etc. Apple got a fingerprint sensor, now everyone has one. A product can have a feature for years and have no one copy it. But if Apple adopts the feature, every one else will do the same. That’s why Apple sets the standard.

Meanwhile, I wear a mechanical Patek Philippe Calatrava that my grandfather bought in the 40s. In all honesty, the apple watch doesn't really make sense to me. Pretty much every aspect of my life revolves around electronics (I write physics simulations at work), so it's a refreshing change of pace to have a timepiece that serenely ticks along using an escape mechanism powered by a tightly coiled spring.

The gps watch still has cellular but it’s near field and uses the iPhone rather than a SIM card/satellite it will do the exact same until you turn your phone off then only the cellular watch can make calls tbh it’s pointless because the cellular watch has 1 hr talk time whereas the gps using the phone cellular has 3hr talk time and who never has there phone on them buy the gps model save yourself 100 🙂

Lucky! I ordered mine over three weeks ago and they still don’t know when mine will be in. The one I bought was the Apple Watch Series 4 Black Stainless Steel 44 mm cell/wireless/GPS with the black stainless steel band. The main selling point for me is the heart rate monitor / 2 point EKG being supported by both the American and Canadian Heart Health Associations. Also, the fact if you fall or pass out from your heart stopping or acting up really bad it can call emergency services for you even if you are unconscious, the almost 2000 dollar watch I ordered is well worth it just because of this factor. I like being alive and this gives me some peace of mind. Also it can provide data for my stupid doctor that says I have a heart condition but he doesn’t know what to do. Canadian healthcare sucks in rural areas we get all the doctors that graduated at the bottom of their class. I’ve heard that the stainless steel versions of the watch are different from each other in that the gold and stainless steel versions do not get micro abrasions like the regular stainless steel watch. I have tried 3rd party straps and the quality, feel and fit of them is not the same as the Apple ones by a long shot, you get what you pay for. However i do agree Apple over charge for watch staps.

I hope they fixed the expanding battery problem. A friend of mine's Apple watch battery expanded where the top popped out and apple didn't want to admit manufacturer fault. They want to charge my friend $200 to fix so he's now moving to the Android side of things. Another customer lost.

I just bought myself a series 3 from work the other day (I work at best buy). they were on sale n ive been wanting to upgrade my smart watch, ive used a $20 fitbit from amazon since last year and I was finally able to afford something better so I made the upgrade. and honestly, im so happy w it. I kinda wish I waited, to either get series 4 (w my next paycheck) OR wait until they announce the new one. but w new apple products, comes pre-ordering and or waiting for them to be back in stock so...at that point I thought it was best to just get series 3 n stick w that for a while until watchOS decides that the chip cant handle the software anymore LMAO. either way, still no regrets. great purchase.
