Yes, absolutely "Lullaby of Broadway" looks like Fascist mass spectacles, which had begun in the 1920s with Mussolini in Italy and reached their height with the Nazis in Germany in the 1930s...this film and the German rallies were happening concurrently in the '30s, and both wanted to impress onlookers with size and scope and synchronized movement.

But the chronological concurrence is a false comparison. Berkeley was an artistic cinematographer who accomplished masterpieces with barely nascent "technology." The Fascists (both Mussolini and Hitler) had no such motives -- or talents -- as we see in this year's 2nd victory of Trump and his billionaire buddies, trying to turn the U.S. into a fascist (totalitarian) autocracy. Sorry, but your perspective on Berkeley is warped.
