Or . . . Dissolve gold by incremental additions of nitric acid. No excess nitric acid means no urea needed. Just precipitate with SMB. There is also much less expensive nitric acid used.

How many times have you done this? Not many im guessing. Why would you test the gold in solution its obvious. SMB (sodium metabisulphite) Ice then SMB to cool the solution and precipitate the gold,its that simple. Did you use any other acids to separate the gold from silver led iron or copper that would be present? Assuming this was scrap gold refining. What you showed here was the tail end of the whole process, What interests me is your process for gaining aqua rega.

You should’ve filtered your solution multiple times to remove the cloudiness. Your solution is still contaminated with what looks like some base metals. Your gold won’t be as pure if you had filtered and redissolved your solids. You want your chloroauric acid to be crystal clear before you precipitate the gold out.

Nobody can answer your question. Price of GOLD is constantly Changing. Just look up local scrap prices. And or find someone local that buys different levels of k. Also find someone with a karatmeter. Called XRF X-Ray fluorescence. Seriously ACCURATE !

Adding water had nothing to do with it. The reason SMB didn't work on the second batch is because there was still nitric acid in the aqua regia. So it needed more SMB to burn through the nitric before it could drop the gold. Apparently, the second dose of SMB (in water) was enough. (Also, the water brought the Ph up a little, which probably helped.) Adding Urea is one popular way to neutralize the nitric acid. Sulfamic acid is better than Urea, in my opinion. Or just don't use so much nitric when dissolving the gold.

To insure that there are no excessive nitric aced it’s better to add nitric slowly until all gold dissolve. Therefore no need to neutralise the sloution before adding smb. Watch stew tips channel for more info

Not necessary. To work out the rocks you need to analyze the kind of ore as first step, before to select the right method. Ores usually need to be reduced to dust, then roasted and after that sodium cyanide is used ; because low concentration of gold per ton.
