Cut the trunk as high as you can reach and have the thing fold down so the bunch does not reach the ground. When you have taken the bunch, use the cane knife to roughly chop up the top section and leave the bulk oif the trunk standing - it will water the section of ground and the chopped stuff will mulch your banana circle. When working in the banana fields we occasionally found bunches as heavy as 80kg.

Banana stem water is good for health. Not too sweet. You can add salt, cumin and it is good for digestion.

You got damaged fruit on bottom hands from when it hit the ground. We have Cavendish banana in Queensland with bunches that size and bigger. Bit of a rust problem on fingers but what a beautiful bunch

Beautiful! Is the "water" from the trunk/stem useable for consumption? Is it sweet? How can it be used other than to say water other crops? How is the blue plastic used to protect bananas?

How do your get to set so much fruit ?? My banana stops after 4 rows in the bunch .
