Very interesting story. Much easier now. No wonder why these paintings are so valuable. Not only they are ancient but all the great length of preparations . Everything was done step by step. That answers a lot of questions I had when I went to le Musee du Louvre . Erasing charcoal drawing with a feather? Unbelievable!! Merci

Hmm there are archeological finds of oyster and clam shells with paint in them....also using lead pens for drawing was rather common too, not only charcoal.
