If you have a lot nitric acide but don’t have hcl than use salt nacl + hno3 and you get the same results . In this process you don’t need potassium nitrate you have nitric acide already. Salt be replacing hcl in aqua regia

What are you actually trying to do here?? If you have gold in a solution of HCL and HNO3, HNO3 must be smoked off before adding SMB. Otherwise, the nitride ions prevent the smb from reducing the gold.

Well that would save us some time for sure. I'm doing ten pound sample of crushed ore in a bucket and pour into gold pan and then beaker, it saves me one filtration much easier, then coffee filter then smb or zinc, not bad huh? No heat though until I get into beaker
