Hey guys! The effectiveness of alchemy has been changing a lot as we approach the pre-patch and the Burning Crusade. I still make some money using the methods outlined in this video and will continue to use these methods in the burning crusade BUUUT I make about 20% of what I once was making and that's just the cyclical nature of this phase of content. I created an updated guide on making gold in this phase of the game that you can check out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2KUc3WeosmmeKs Otherwise, if you are still dabbling in alchemy I would recommend doing small batches and testing what sells and doesn't sell. It is going to be different for every server but for me, I have been having luck with the super low-cost potions like elixir of fortitude, arcane elixirs (both regular and greaters), and some of the greater protection potions. I do small batches of 10-20 and try not to over-commit. I hope this helps! TY for watching!

In Org it's probably faster to not mount up, when going from the AH to the mailbox/bank

I use auctionator for searching and posting. I know tsm can do these things too but it’s a long standing habit at this point 😅. I like the way it presents the current auctions so I can easily see how many are up and at what price and select where I want my items to be listed price-wise.

Previously, my potions were bought often, now there are many stupid people who reduce prices and crafting potions becomes unprofitable, I used to get a lot of gold for free action potion, craft costs 2g, I sold for 2.65g, now the sale price is about 2g, what should I do? I have been waiting for about a week and the situation has not changed, sometimes good people can buy my potions, although there are other sellers whose potions are much cheaper

I think that potion margins are going to continue to be kinda hit or miss until TBC comes out. On my server sometimes the profit you can make is similar to what I was making before...I am not able to sell as much as I was before. I noticed the change a couple weeks ago and made a follow-up video of things that I'm currently watching for gold making opportunities: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j2KUc3WeosmmeKs My favorite potions and elixirs to make right now are the super cheap ones that sell for over double the cost of mats, think 20s to craft and sells for 80s. I would recommend just looking at all the recipes you have and making a couple to see if they move. Best of luck to ya!

I am not a tsm expert, and would feel a bit out of my depth trying to teach others to use it. Best of luck finding a good tutorial though! I learned how to use the add on mostly from trial and error and a few odd videos.

personaly i would rather be a collector rather than a crafter because (mats $ - crafted $ = low income); at least on herod US EAST. here is the thing, most of the time you will prob be studing the market for the best profitable prices, under this period, you are making no $$ at all - however, i, as a herbalist, u can zug zug SM for 1~1.5g / min with fadeleaves and grave mosses. my point is: unless if you sell xmute/mooncloth cds or trade flasks + tips, crafting profession sucks for gold income. but hey, market varies from server to server so if you can do it on urs, than great job ^^

Yes, I definitely hear ya. I have a few toons on different servers and the markets are definitely different. Also, I will say that if I don't buy my materials early morning I will not make much of a profit, especially if I try to craft during prime playtimes. I like doing a lot of different parts of the game. I like gathering and solo dungeon farming. I even boosted some dungeons for a short time on a mage and that was fun. It's all about playing the game how you like to play it and making money that works for you and for your server.

In general, it's a good and helpful video, but earning gold with alchemy is not so easy unfortunately. Besides that on my server barely any potion or elixir is profitable to craft by buying materials from the AH (at the moment at least), you have to camp the AH all the time because people will undercut you quickly and you won't sell anything if you don't cancel and repost your stuff.

Oh man I hate playing the undercut game. I have had good luck listing right before my server's buffs go out and I still make about 300-500 per day but my server is pretty populated. I only undercut on items that are high margin and low demand and the rest I leave alone and do 8 hour postings. If you're able to and have the desire to try alchemy some more I would suggest checking the AH for materials super early in the morning. Some days I can't sleep I'll be on the AH at 6am. It depends on how you like to play the game and when you like to play it.
