G'day Janezhallam . Yes , i have tried the dry cement cupel , and i may even try it on this stuff too . It worked OK , but according to Keith Bowen from Hardrock University Channel , he suggests to melt a little lead in it first before you put the lead prill in it , he says they work better that way , so might be worth a try . Acid peroxide solution would eat out the iron, and the gold foils would peel off after a bit of soaking.

But it's not about the gold , it's about learning more about our hobby , that's the fun part of it .lol 😂 Yeah , the backs OK at the moment , so that's good . You are hitting the River on the 10th aye ?, i will see how things go , i am really trying to line up some private property , and private access on that River , my niece's partner owns a large holding on the River and i need to talk with him about gaining access through his land , if he will let me . The creek is gone out there , the old timers trenches is gated off , My secret creek is fenced now , and i don't really like going where the new owners / managers are at the river , really need some new ground . I wonder if the gold PLATED the iron rod or WETTED the iron rod? I would have cut the end of the rod off and dissolved the iron in acid. I hate inconclusive results.

G'day Keith , yeah , i placed the end of the Rod in the Poor mans Aqua Regia solution i had left over from my gold foil video , overnight and it appears that it is gone into that solution which turned Black instead of Green which it was at the start . Funny thing though i just panned out the remaining roasted ore i did , about , say 100 grams and it had a considerable amount of gold in it . So i am thinking that i will just roast it and pan it out and then melt the Gold . Seems much easier and less expensive . Well you live and learn i guess . lol , 🤣 Fun n games . Cheers Bro . 👍👍

G'day James , Ahh when i saw it was a bit thick and crusty on the top at the start i used the bar to break it up a bit and help it along , i thought all the time worrying that i would run out of Gas . And then i left it in for a while and then i stirred it for a while . So it was in there for a good while . And i know you add iron nails if your sulphides are un roasted , so i didn't see any harm in it thinking it might consume any un roasted sulphur . And there may have been a possibility of cross contamination , as i had used that bar on other smelts before but did not notice any visible metals on it initially . G'day Gavin , Yeah , i stuck it overnight in some Poor mans Aqua Regia solution in my stock pot , it removed it all , so it's in there now , for another day . I found that if i just roast this ore and pan it out i get good gold , so i told Kev i will send him some more ore and he can just roast it and pan it out .
