If you've seen the original version of this match up, you'll see the overwhelming majority of the comments all say that Shimizu won...and personally I agree. To this day, I still believe that the only reason Sanchez...from Spain, won was because this even took place in Spain in Madrid which is right next door to her hometown. In the time since this upset, has Sanchez gone on to become worthy of being a world champion and Olympic gold medalist? Yes. But this was an upset.
