This house is absolutely gorgeous. Why anyone would want to demolish such a gem is beyond me. They will most likely replace it with a plain square box. My husband is a jack of all building trades in restoration, most people tear these beautiful homes down, made with excellent materials and craftsmanship, only to rebuild with cheap materials.

By far the most beautiful home (in my opinion) you’ve ever shown. Reeks of quality at every turn. I’m so surprised you didn’t come across a vault or safe. I’m not sure we have the craftsman capable of building to this standard any longer, not to mention the cost to rebuild exacting materials. Stunning home very sad to see it go.

I feel silly atm . Ethan, as soon as you showed the front door inside, the craftsmanship actually made my heartbreak and delight as tears roll down my face. I know that sounds dramatic, but shame on these people who have made the choice to tear down a piece of our history, shame shame, shame how could anyone not want to keep it, before we know it, it will be such a extremely rare to see that man actually carved and showed creativity when building before we know it a machine will do it. All a man will need to touch it. Ughhhh‼️🫣🫣🫣😣😡🥺😭

This one reminds me of a house where I live. A doctor in town had his house built in the 1920s, very similar styling. There were servants quarters in that house upstairs, and also a ballroom on the very top floor. Fortunately, it was saved and is used for weddings and other functions. It's really beautiful. It sits on the top of a hill, overlooking the city. This is in the US. It broke my heart to see the beginning of the demolition of this lovely old home! ☹️ Such a crime, in my opinion! 😡. Another good, but sad video, Ethan. Thanks!

Beautiful home with all this dark molding. This beautiful rooms I don't know. This place is original. It should be a national crime to want a tear down in an absolutely gorgeous house like this. I mean the craftsmanship. The workmanship will never be like this again. The only thing everybody's gonna ever get is some thrown together. A piece of junk that would blow down in a small windstorm. But I have to say thanks to you, Ethan that this stuff is gonna be on film Documented for people to see in the future. Thank God there is people like you that do this but like I said it should be a national crying to tear these houses down. This house is absolutely gorgeous. Back in the late sixties my father scavenged wood, cabinets and the most beautiful fireplace with wood mantle and ceramic tile from an old hotel being demolished in Winnipeg. As a child I hated all the wood in the house but loved that fireplace. Now, at 62, I really miss all that unfashionable stuff, especially when I see what passes for houses these days at $ 500,00 a pop.

@26:50 - When this magazine came out, I was 10 or 11. We were just about to move to Honolulu with the military. On this page, you see a Ford Fairmont. When my family moved back to the continental US in late 82, my old man bought the Mercury version of this car called the Zephyr. 1979 model but used. They gave that car to me in 1985ish while I was in HS. I was a year younger than all the people in HS so that made me kinda cool. She ran good, that car.

Thank you, Ethan, for this and your other documentaries. Thank you. The property is not mine to make decisions about but I would have kept the exterior of the house pretty much the same, but for the interior, modern, opening up smaller rooms, mazes, oh and closets lol to make better use of space but keeping many original features intact. In the event the house needed to be torn down I would have salvaged the reusable materials in the building of a new house, lumber, bricks, marble, doors and some of its' beautiful windows for a new greenhouse.and/or donate the materials. Waste is so unattractive. I wasn't able to help that house but I haven't ruled out the opportunity for another. But I am blessed, much smaller than the Tudor home but when I came to my home in 1998, it was uninhabitable, but still stands because I ignored those who laughed at me and renovated it putting it mildly. lol. It is pretty much 25 years old and newer now. Home sweet home. The Tudor house was turn -key compared to I what salvaged. Yeah, waste is very unattractive indeed.
