If you are looking for the journal pages, there are a few by the totem pole site and a few scattered around the magnetite factory before entering old Arnold parcel. I forgot how many, but I think 4 at each location.

You just need to pull the gold out the the blacksmith and then drop it or do what ever you want. Its already in the back inventory at that point.

Ok the pages give you 1% off of fuel and the cost of the replacement parts at the store (the stuff that brakes). So in normal mode it's not that big of a deal but in hard more fuel is 50% more expensive. So every page is more important. And there is a story log in your Journal.

It's up to you but most people deal with this game in oz. But it's all good. When you get in to the good gold you will be dealing in 10's of thousands of grams

If you mine to the point to get the mini X make sure you mine enough to be able to transport it as well. And you will want the fuel trailer as well because it take a ton of fuel and the drinks a lot as well. But to make things a little cheaper for you you can rent the mini X. As you can its a pain in the you know what, but you can fill the hog pan with the mini X. Man is it quick. Lol. After a couple of times you can buy the mini plant and run that.

So do not open employees while you are in T1, T1.5 (mini wash plant), or T2 ( mobile wash plant). You will waste you money and then lose possibly lose you employees as well. You need to make you are making enough money each day to be able to afford everything for at least 2 to 3 days if you didn't mine at all just in case. Because employees and if you rent equipment it becomes expensive. And you have to remember you have to keep money there for repair as well. And some parts become very expensive.

Also the only thing they do on T1 is change mats once for you if you hire them and it will cost you like 400+ a day I think at level 1. Not to mention 10k to unlock the employee menu

Also there is no difference in the color of the dirt and whats in it. Sorry to break it to you. Its a random scatter of gold through the hog pan area when the game is 1st loaded.
