@@BiggestKev1960 Hey Kev , don't throw any of it away , i panned some out very carefully , then i panned out the catcher pan for any loses , and i emptied the wheelbarrow slimes into a bucket , and i left it to settle overnight , i just went outside and panned one handful of the slimes and it still had sulphides in it . This is going to be very difficult . I might roast some panned sulphides but i think it might be worthwhile just roasting the ore directly after crushing it , man it's hard to decide the best process . G'day Peter , yes the Silica dust is very dangerous stuff indeed . yes , hardrock ore like this has superfine gold in it , it is just a matter of how much . i do not anticipate too much from such a small sample , considering those guys mining it are dealing with tonnage , but we shall see my friend . Well 30 lbs of dirt rocks yikes would have cost heaps to send Nev Nice ore too that muncher chews it up ay I think you need a millers table for it or Jason’s blue job Hope your back gets better mate know the feeling Cheers 🍻 CrouchOz
@GrooberNedJardine5 күн бұрын
G'day Crouch , yeah mate , the freight was ridiculous alright Sheeesh . 🤣 but it was worth it just for the fun of it all . The sulphides are very light as well , so i am doing OK with the pan , but yeah i could use my little ribbed mat miller table would probably work well too . Hardrock gold is very superfine so i am not expecting to get much gold from 30 lbs , but hopefully the journey will be interesting for me . Yes , i hurt my back again after several years of going along relatively pain free , but i did it at work putting up eaves sheets bending backwards can often do it to me . It's no fun getting old mate , as you well know , lol , 🤣 Take care Buddy 👍👍
@UncleBildo4 күн бұрын
Looks like your mill does a better job than mine! I have to re-tool a bit, getting more sand size than flour, and Gawd most that gold is tiny! I've only processed 15 or so lbs of it fully. Got a nice little starter bottle of gold. Also got some pretty decent specimens in the bigger chunks. Gotta have 30 or more of those sitting out currently. Cleaned some up with sulfuric acid, really brightened them up, the gold and tellurides show way stronger. For an amateur, this is pretty challenging stuff to pan, I'm sorta like a chimp shaking bugs outta a coconut or something with my technique! Got distracted from the ore, found an old Jeep to fix up to go hunt rocks with. Too many hobbies, so little time (and cash!)
@GrooberNedJardine4 күн бұрын
G'day UncleBildo , yeah , the crusher does a great job turning it into talcum powder . I am finding out It is very tricky getting all the sulphides , even the slimes still have considerable sulphides in it , so i might end up roasting it all . I am not expecting to get to much gold out of such a small sample , as Hardrock ore is superfine , it's not like panning in a creek where larger gold is concentrated in places . Anyway, should be fun mucking around with it . Keep on having fun matey 👍👍, lots of Hobbies means you don't get time to be bored , lol . Thanks for watching and commenting 👍 Cheers Ned . ✌

Thanks for the vid. I've been watching this series on Jason's new mine and I'm very tempted to get 15lbs of pre crushed ore shipped to the UK but the gold is so fine I'm worried that it's a bit beyond me to pan it and not losee too much and get it reasonably clean. The shipping is killer so the return is probably dismal but I'm not in it to make a buck just wanted something other than the usual beginners paydirt to pan at home with the kids.
@GrooberNedJardine3 күн бұрын
G'day smokeandkippers , yeah, same here been watching Jason for years now , he's a pretty smart cookie , and decent of him to make his ore available to the world . I am finding out that it is very difficult to recover all the sulphides by panning , so i might have to try several ways of doing this , but i don't anticipate much gold in such a small sample , that was not the point or i would have bought paydirt . It is definitely not paydirt you're dealing with , that's what makes it more interesting . I say go for it if you can 👍👍. Cheers Ned . ✌

I have a bit of ore that also has this oily looking stuff that floats and looks like oil. I didn't realize that it was a sulfide? Did you see any oily looking sulfide material floating? No biggie, really. I'm just curious if you saw it also. Liked the microscope views Thanks much, sir Peace Prospector Tripp
@GrooberNedJardine4 күн бұрын
G'day Matt , yes i saw that floaty oily film on the top of the water , but i don't know how you would recover it , maybe Acid ? But i panned it carefully , then i panned the catcher pan after doing multiple pans , it still had sulphides in it , then i captured what was in the barrow ( slimes ) , put it in a bucket , left it settle overnite and then panned one handful out and it still had sulphides in it . It is going to be very tricky . i think i am going to roast some directly crushed material without panning it . What is the name of the white powder used to mix into the stone?
@GrooberNedJardine5 күн бұрын
Hello there Naughty . I am not sure exactly what you mean here , if you are referring to the white substance in the pan , it is the quartz rock crushed up that you see in the pan with the sulphides in it , once it is washed it appears very clean .
