It is my dad who taught me and the books I read written by Swami Vivekananda or the man I idolise Shaheed Bhagat Singh who did this. RSS shakhas do it for all the Sangh goers everyday. Hence people like Modi are so patriotic and honest. I don’t care if he went to school or he has MA or not. A person who reads Swami Vivekanand or goes to a RSS Shaka is any day better than a crook with IIT or Harvard degree. Yes that is what we need to realise.

Buy gold when price is low. Don’t buy 22kt coins , its resale value is low. Buy 24k 999 purity bars or coins. Buy directly from refiners in India. USD has appreciated against most currencies last five years. (20% against INR, 6% against EUR, 3% against CAD, 17% against YEN...). Agree that holding gold would have been wiser through this phase for various central banks. In the sense gold could be a great hedge but they all need USD for liquidity reasons (that is the power of USD). And I am not sure if printing money is a US specific problem recently (there was a pandemic). Other than a shift to gold for diversification reasons, I am not sure there is any empirical data to support that power of USD as a central currency is waning (at least in any significant way to be replaced) ?? I am a layman who is interested in economic affairs sometimes. So I could be way off here and happy to be corrected.
