If you're seeing this post-AGOV, I would advise the following changes: > Replace Donner with Little Night > Replace one copy of Dragon Drive with Vermillion Dragon Mech or a completely different Synchro > Replace Psychic Tracker with Psychic Wheelder (reason being you 99.9999% don't ever use Tracker as synchro material; however, there are scenarios where having Wheelder as a tuner is nice) Still testing this new format ofc, but these were the most obvious "patch notes" for now.

Yeah, pure PUNK definitely has its benefits over GP. The GP names definitely increase the ceiling of the deck, but they can be clunky in certain scenarios (namely the "inability to lower LP" case I mentioned). Having the space to just dump in hand traps or concessions is extremely nice. Congrats on your successes!

What do you think of the upcoming S:P Little Night? I feel that it could be a pretty solid Extra deck together wit I:P Masquerena. And how about The Zombie Vampire, or Photon Lord? Also, how is the 2 Deer Note 1 Roller Baller working for you? I have the inverted ratios, and I feel that it works better since the PUNKs are more usually handtrapped than the GP side of the deck.
@pk_tuneworld Жыл бұрын
I would probably just replace Donner or a copy of Dragon Drive with Little Night. I don't find Masq super necessary, but you could fit it in by cutting the other card above that you didn't cut for Little Night. I don't think Zombie Vampire is that great, especially in a format where a lot of decks rely on their GY to do stuff (Unchained, Tear). Sure, you might get a free body, but you may inadvertently skew the outcome of the game by giving your opponent free mills. Gold Pride PUNK already has plenty of ways to extend and kill, so Zombie Vampire also feels unnecessary. Realistically, 2 Roller Baller 1 Deer is correct. I think I mention it in the video: in spite of the former point, I'm just biased towards 2 Deer since I've played PUNK for so long. I like having the second copy to tutor out during subsequent turns even if, for the most part, this deck either hard wins when its combo goes off or kills when it breaks a board. So far, the ratios have done me justice at my locals - things may vary depending on where you're playing. At the very least, I almost always side out 1 Deer Note in G2/G3 for board breakers or floodgates I have sided. Thanks for watching, let me know if you have other questions!

What do you think of running the Fusion cards, and a level 3 and 5 fusion together with Theseus to extend? Is it working too hard on the combos?

I do like Malong a lot, but I myself never seemed to make it at all during games and thus cut it completely. I also liked how much more utility Wheeleder offered - it's a really nice tuner extender that can help you with Synchro plays. The effect it offers to pop a card on field has also come up a lot in order to get rid of threats (if you use Wheeleder to make PEP, you usually pop anything on field). Doesn't mean Malong or Tracker aren't wrong to play, but I personally just ended up not including them. Otherwise, glad you're enjoying the deck!

For me im using the instant/ready fusion variant instead of fenrir due to fenrir can be a brick if you draw it after you have establish a board. The instant ready fusion allows me to go into barrone/dragite/dragon drive and it lowers your LP. Once Agov is release i will be putting SP in the deck.
@pk_tuneworld Жыл бұрын
Oh, for sure, I'll be putting SP when AGOV comes out. You could easily replace Donner or a copy of Dragon Drive. I like the logic behind Instant/ Ready! Especially when you draw those hands of all Gold Pride names, either "fusion" spell gets you out of the debacle whereas Fenrir wouldn't. You could also try the HERO card, "Instant Contact" - I know some Master Duel players were using it for some time to make Baronne since they didn't have Fenrir.

I do really, really like Galaxy Lord. There have been SO many games where making the card would've saved me if not made winning easier. Yet, I'm holding off on purchasing one until the reprint since I more or less just play at locals and don't go to regionals/ YCS's. Definitely would recommend the Rank 8 as you said to any other players picking up this deck. Knightmare Shark is definitely funny! I have considered it before. Though, I feel like, if I do open up another ED slot for another Rank 3 that isn't Break Sword, Fortune Tune might be the next best bet. I get Shark could be nice for "in time" stuff and for making a 4-mat Zeus as you mention, but Fortune Tune's protection effect probably enables it in many more situations than the Number monster does.

Nice profile. About your pin on replacing Dragon Drive with Vermillion/any synchro...what about putting TY-PHON in that slot instead? It's very easy to make (especially going second), and it helps shut down stupid boards the opponent makes. Would TY-PHON be an option to put in that 15th slot instead of a generic synchro? Or even Photon Lord (since he is getting reprinted in that Battles of Legend Chapter 1 set, so something for the future getting him cheaper)? Just trying to find options that I think I would realistically go into instead of just slapping in some generic synchro that I may never go into ever. (Hell, would I:P also work since you already said to run S:P over Donner, I:P into S:P combo)
@pk_tuneworld Жыл бұрын
Anything could work to be honest. I finally caved in and took out the second Dragon Drive, but just wasn't sure what to replace it with quite yet. Vermillion sounded nice since there were quite a few scenarios where I could make it, but I have yet to make it in tournament play. I think Ty-phon would be an amazing inclusion - in other decks I've played, I've greatly valued its utility. Photon Lord can DEFINITELY go in on the other hand - it helps bait out Nibiru (which I have been hit with a couple of times). I think I mention it in the video but didn't mention it in the comments since I personally don't own one :P

How are you feeling leading into this next little mini-season? I'm looking for a deck to tide me over thru PHNI and the Vegas 3v3 and GP Punk seems pretty high on the list as a primarily rogue player. Appreciate your content man
@pk_tuneworld11 ай бұрын
I'm certainly biased because it is my favorite deck, but I feel like the deck still definitely has merit. The fact that it has the space to run whatever generic tech cards you need for the format (both in the main and ED) while having a fairly stable engine is really nice. I'm also not sure how many people know how to play against the deck - a typical benefit of playing rogue, but one I should mention nonetheless. I think the main concern playing the deck might be that its combos are pretty telegraphed at times, so good players can stop you at the right time. Also, if you don't feel like you can play really quickly, the drop in life points during time is a danger to consider. Otherwise, I like the deck and would definitely recommend it!

Got a few questions: 1) Your deck building is done with droll in mind but you play the psychic tracker. Running Nyannyan in that spot allows you the play through droll even more. Any reason you’re not using Nyannyan is droll is a concern? (I find people are siding droll more now anyway so maybe your choice is right) 2) I find myself rarely going to the rank 8s. Even mid game when comboing turns 3+ I’m mostly trying to get the Rank 11s cuz PEP or Amazing Dragon do SO much. How often are you going into Ding/Hope? There’s also a 2.5 card combo that plays around Nib if you have Photon Lord. I had a copy so I run it but yeah it is expensive I agree. 3) Not a question but I like Fenrir. I play 2 kinda want to bump it to 3. 4) is breaksword that good? I have 2 chariot Carrie and it never comes up lol
@pk_tuneworld Жыл бұрын
No problem: (1) I think playing in fear of Droll only hinders the deck rather than benefitting it. I do mention keeping Droll in mind when deck-building, but the optimizations I made are minor in this regard. Nyannyan may help me play through Droll more, but Psychic Tracker is ultimately the better card IMO due to its more reliable utility. Most people also seem to only be siding Droll too. (2) Hope you can make pretty consistently with your normal line - you summon back a level 8 with Deer Note and then overlay that level 8 with Dragon Drive. Sure, I don't always do this (sometimes you need to summon back a level 3 to make Chariot Carrie), but otherwise Hope seems fine. I also personally have gone into Ding quite a few times - I like it. (3) Fenrir is just extremely strong ye. Great card going second; lets you make Baronne going first to protect your commitements. (4) I honestly don't go into Breaksword that much if at all, but I haven't felt like I needed the 2nd Chariot that much quite yet. Maybe that'll change in the future as I keep playing. Hope this helps! Always happy to answer more questions. Otherwise, thanks for watching :)

Your video makes me happy, I was reconsidering playing Punk/Gold Pride! Very good video by the way, as always! You never disappoint! Also, I have a question: What do you think about Gold Pride/Evil Eyes actually? And what about Punk/Virtual World?
@pk_tuneworld Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure how well Evil Eye Gold Pride would work. If I recall, the only way you could lose life points going first (the deck presumably would want to go first) is by activating Selene to re-equip itself from GY. And sure, there is level 3 synergy given some of the Evil Eye names, but outside of that not much. Could still be worth a try, nonetheless. PUNK Virtual World feels odd atm. It was so much better two years ago when we still had Auroradon Cupid Pitch Combo. Sure, you can still search Lulu or dump Nyan with Dragon Drive. But now you can't set up a VW name on field through your PUNK combo - you would need to hard open something like Qinglong or Kauwloon. I think it might be worth trying out a small PUNK engine in VW, but the variant as a whole feels like a shell of what it once was. These two comments aren't meant to discourage you - I think there could be something to had with both combination of archetypes. I'm just giving honest opinions. Thanks, by the way, for watching - it makes me happy when you support me!
@Acelyn- Жыл бұрын
@@pk_tuneworld Thank you very much for your blunt comment! Appreciate your honesty! I say Evil Eyes Gold Pride, because I think there's a very good synergy with the 2 archetypes, I've been testing it online and it impressed me. There are a lot of 1 card combos which can get you to your good pride cards very easily, but you have to play a small GP engine for that. You want to touch your Evil Cards. And, as the majority of the actual decks, it will always be better going first. Also I think it can have some interesting end board, quite different as what we can have habitually with the punk/GP version. For the Punk/Virtual World, I've heard of this deck just a week ago, and I also tried it online, weither I think it is very good, I think it's very consistant (it can play around several disruptions), and it's end boards are... strange. And I wondered if it could be viable, because when I tried it it seemed so, despite the fact that it isn't casual end board (like, with negates), but with a lot of bounces and unaffected monster (the geomathmech sigma). But as you said, it is very dependant from your hand. You get to have at least 1 virtual world card in your hand to make your combos. Also it can be any virtual world card. I feel that Punk is good with it because it gives you a real draw power with the field spell, which seems to be the lack of Virtual World. It allows you to draw your VW names. You can also draw with stardust charge warrior/coral dragon. Punk also brings it the disruption of quick synchro with sharakusai, to make a minimum bounce 4 amazing dragon, which looks very good to me. But since I'm a recent player, I wasn't sure if it was still a good choice. Thank you for enlightening me! I'll give them a try, go to locals with both and give you the results. Thank you very much! Keep going, your work is always very interesting!

Would you say punk gp is the best way to play it or would you recommend some other version of it? :)
@pk_tuneworld Жыл бұрын
Everyone is going to have their own opinions - mine is that it probably is the best version. Pure PUNK is nice since it can run a ton of generic cards (board breakers, hand traps), but the archetype is core engine is very susceptible to hand traps otherwise. I feel like the Gold Pride cards raise the ceiling by giving you additional extenders and additional plays beyond the normal PUNK combo (streamlining into Extreme Session + setting up, at most, Baronne + Sharakusai trigger with negates). The other PUNK variants I'm aware of are neat but definitely have their own flaws. Therion and Zombie PUNK is a bit too clunky in spite of its strong endboard; Adventurer PUNK has too much conflict between both engines; and other PUNK variants are funny.

If you still want a level 7 body for Baronne, you can always replace Fenrir with either Kashtira Unicorn (and then add in Kashtira Birth for Unicorn to search it); Ascended of Thunder; Senko the Skybolt; or Instant Contact + Level 7 Hero Fusion in the ED. Otherwise, you can replace Fenrir with any other extender, more GP names, more PUNK names (e.g., Ogre Dance), or more concessions. For example, I recently had to loan away my entire Fenrir playset and ended up replacing them with Book of Eclipse. This choice ended up helping me win games since some of my match-ups were against a neutered Kashtira (and Book was always good into that match-up). Hope this helps! For sure! Baronne is a really nice inclusion since you can make it with Fenrir + any PUNK name early (or later) to protect your plays from hand traps. why you don't play triple tactic talent and called by the grave...
@pk_tuneworld Жыл бұрын
Not playing Tactics is twofold: [1] I didn't have any and didn't feel like buying it (until Rarity collection came out, yet I'm still not playing it); [2] didn't feel like it was 100% necessary around the time this profile was posted. Might reconsider given the rising popularity of hand traps this late in the format. As for Called By: also don't feel like the card is all that necessary. Sure, you can potentially dodge a hand trap, especially cards like Shifter and Droll that completely shut down the deck. Nonetheless, outside of the two I just mentioned, you can usually push through a hand trap or two with enough extenders. These same extenders can be used to break a board going second, unlike Called By which may not always help you if at all. My logic could be flawed, but so far it's held up for me personally. Your locals + your experiences might have you playing either or spell instead. Hope this helps, though happy to elaborate on the matter further!
