My next door neighbor was a lapidarist, and I helped him build his rock shop 50 years ago. In return, he made me a custom Tiger's Eye ring. To this day that is my favorite semiprecious stone. It is very beautiful. 😊

Hi guys, love watching you find gold, so envious. Your stones that you are tumbling…give them a light coat of clear polyurethane varnish and the colours will jump out. Let the varnish dry and they will stay colourful for ever ! Stay safe….Des and Shirley from the UK.

G'day Krissy & Clint, it's seems that finding gold is becoming so much harder after half a century of metal detecting & grading. With the change of weather patterns however I think the incidents of larger scale erosion events will open up deeper ground previously unreachable. If possible you should try to gather your rock specimens from old creek beds & watercourses. A few swings with a shovel may just reveal some nice rounded water worn & polished specimens.

I seriously doubt that I would have found that nugget, your ears must be well tuned in to your detector. Well done on finding it! An amazing array of colours in those rocks, Ive only ever kept two rocks that I had found, one was a see through rock almost glass like, but what stood out was a bubble inside of it that was floating around in water. But Ive long since mislaid it. The other was an odd brownish rock that looked like it had been heated to a point of bubbling mud and cooled so quickly that the bubbling still remained. The way of nature is stunning in what it can create. Cheers Krissy!

What are you using for a tumbling medium, stainless steel ball bearings, or just other rocks? Ball bearings tend to give you a smoother surface, and a better finished product.

all that stones you found there in the middle of australia in the dessert-have been formed by water -in a sea milions a years ago- so there might have been water there or a sea / ocean -there when the earth was pretty young- they - you'll know it from Germny yourself around the beaches in northwest -North sea or- northeast /north Germany - easter sea / Baltic ocean - so its easy to find here in Denmark -in our 7500 km costline just different collered!
@GaryPArmstrong9 ай бұрын
I probably can answer that of what you reckon is water-washed rock, which is part of the story. Actually where Krissy is and all around the Pilbara and way up to parts of Nullagine the rock on top of the ground was formed 4.5 billion years ago and lets us remember the earth's surface would have been a lot different as there would have been volcanic eruptions that have pushed gold and rocks, metallic or not to the close to the surface of the earth ( 5ks down is where gold ended up in Western Australia 4.5 billion years ago). Now with the earth settling down and erosion of soil by wind movement eruptions and soil movement the gold has been exposed to be very close to the surface. Then the action of water etc has exposed and moved the gold and also eroded it out of the other rocky material with it we then get what is called Alluvial gold. This is what is called the geologist's view of how the earth pushed gold up (?)to the surface in Western Australia only. It gets you thinking about how it seems that we stand on top of the desert and there is gold just under the surface. To clarify a little better, just imagine a Spent volcano standing 5 Ks high and there is always a valley and the volcanic mountain starts to erode may then give you an idea of how the gold came to the surface when in a real sense it did not, just everything around it moved by wind, rain. Funny enough they say where you find gold always work your way North in Western Australia. Anyway, the Pilbara is just a beautiful place to be to look for gold.

@@GaryPArmstrong I know no problem - just that I know the eath is much older than we know about- and it has been much smaler billions years ago- and its still groing bigger. so all gud- it was just a note - not declame enything- I hope you find much more gold and be happy out there in out at nowwhrere like to joyened the videos enyway and sry my english!! 🙃🙃😉 take care !!
