I think your video is the first one I've seen where you actually know how to remove a tie rod end , ball joint etc. No pickle fork needed. Nice project by the way

for those of you that can do this, do you realize how epically cool it is to those of us that can't?

I genuinely hope you know how much these videos mean to people like me as a young squarebody owner. Not only are your videos super entertaining, but insanely helpful. Your video style is perfect. Thank you so much and i hope to see more posts in the future.

WD40 isn't a penetrating oil, Kroil is the absolute best, expensive and hard to come by but PB Blaster is in the same price range as WD40. That is a good looking truck

I am impressed that you are repairing this frame. I have only owned a 1979 c10, and it was a $1200, solid driver. Never knew they were riveted together. I am more of a Toyota guy, and the frames rot quite badly up here in the NE. When I go out to colorado, and see the trucks in the salvage yard, and I think how many truck could be saved with solid frames. Did you mention what engine you are installing? It states v10, did Chevy make a v10? I know Dodge and Ford had them.
@4x4mikey8 күн бұрын
Thanks. The truck is worth saving and not drivable with that frame. The Chevrolet designation for the 4X4 1/2 ton truck was K10 until 1986. In 1987 Chevrolet changed the designation to V10. I am going to install a Throttle Body Injection (TBI) 350 small block V8.

To expand on what he said, GM launched the GMT400 in 88 (now commonly called an OBS for old body style) but they were still producing the old "square bodies" til 91 (suburbans, blazer, cab & chassis etc) so they had rename the "old" C/K to R/V. Eg. R10 is a 2wd ½ ton. V20 would be 4x4 ¾ ton. So yeah, it's so long ago now that a lot of people see V10 and think engine 😂

Where did you get that tool for measuring bolts? I’d love to have one! I’ve been wrenching my whole life, but I still waste a ton of time figuring out bolt sizes-and it’s only getting worse as I get older.

It is a Messograph Pen. You can find it on the J. Peterman Company website.
